This morning I came up with another possible addition that some (and by that I really mean myself) would find very helpful. Imagine if in addition to showing stunned and prone effects on creatures in the room, it also showed which one we were targeting. Not sure if it is even possible, but it would help me with group hunting and the use of persistent spells. Did your hunting partner just kill the adept you have targeted instead of one of the other three, know at a glance rather than your next cast auto-targeting to a constructs. Did the jan you cast 710 at just run to another room, or did the other one? If they are otherwise uninjured and have the same gear, this is really no good way to know. This is especially true in places like OTF when creature movement and fading happens so often during the fight.

But if he showed up in TARGETBOLD I might never accidentally target Svardin again!

The SF critter menu will only have the possibility to target in it, if the critter isn't currently your target. (If target is available on the one that stayed behind then my target is the one that ran off) This works fairly effectively for me in solo situations, but its too slow in group situations where I would need something like TARGETBOLD.

Sadly, your targets are stored on your character, not on the creature. Not saying it can't be done, but I don't see it being an easy fix. It's a good idea though.

Wyrom, would it be possible then to message the players about that? (This would affect things like timing attacks to coincide with when it will not be swinging back, keeping track of when it has left the room, et cetera.) The server is checking the character to find out whether or not to send to them anyhow, this is just one more check being done to determine which text to send.
Seems to me it should also work with 'look', because the character involved is known, which means that that characters current Target is known, so it should be able to tell us.
So:
In a roomful of multiples of each of several creatures this is mighty handy to know.

So:
action | meaning |
A krolvin warfarer [your target] barks an incantation! | (it is prepping a spell) |
A krolvin warrior [your target] just went into the building. | (it walked into the saloon; choose a new target OR get ready to follow it because you know it is injured and will sit down to bandage) |
