>>>I'm mulling it over, but I have to say I'm not sold on the idea. Pocketed hats are sort of a silly concept when you think about it. ~GS4-FINROS
Hi Finros, nice to see another poster in red here.
As for the silly concept of a pocketed hat, I thought I'd list a few pocketed items that we do have which are also silly when you think about it.
1) I have a pocketed pair of riding boots that open/close. Hmmm, it's probably safe to assume they're leather, so where's the pocket and how are they opening and closing? What latches them closed?
Now Khaladan/Pauls boots where the heel flips open for one small item, those make sense.
2) I have pocketed trousers that open/close. We don't have zippers, so again, how are they latching shut? Buttons/clasps on my pockets?
3) I have a pocketed ankle-sheath (any sheath actually) that opens/closes. How deep is this item that I can close it over a falchion? And to further the absurdity, I have a full sized falchion strapped on my ankle ?
So when you think about it further, we definately have items that are pocketed and are a silly concept of opening and closing.
Since the hats are already pocketed, what would be so bad about adding them to the list of items that can be clasped for opening and closing? As an aside, I'm pretty sure the flimsy wizard hats are head worn. I recall the one I owned over a decade ago was head worn.
>>>I sort of gave up as to the reality of what could and could not be pocketed when I was introduced to pocketed earrings. Compared to that, a pocketed hat is rather reasonable. ~Maynist
Rings with secret reservoirs are easier to imagine because of them being larger. But you're right, pocketed earrings, bracelets and anklets, even for one small item, just seem odd.
