OK, spell active command helped with the footpad reps. Now I am learning calipers. Is there a list somewhere of lock descriptions and the corresponding approximate difficulty? Tried Googling it, but didn't quite get what I wanted.

"So, what does that green line on the graph represent?"
"Oh, that's the projection of a hypothetical offspring from a union between Sauron and Cruella de Ville; we use that as a baseline for determining character alignment."

Don't recall if you use lich or not but one of the very handy things about using it is for reference.

;repo download locks
;locks

will provide what you are looking for.

The severed troll leg howls in pain, clutching its toes!

Make sure to disarm the box before measuring the lock size with calipers.

When you first get calipers there is a spread of seven ranges (e.g. if you caliper several times and see "simple" and "rudimentary" among the results, you know the lock is actually "easy" and "very easy" or "very basic" will also get you the rep) When you are mastered with calibrated calipers, you'll always get the size right if its in the middle of the range (e.g. 820 will always be "intricate", but 800 will sometimes caliper as "fairly complicated").

Bards always get the size right, so you can use a bard to tell you what size range you are looking to get for a rep as well as the bracketing technique.
