Are we sure PF only helps reduce the number of cycles of sickness from 130 and doesn't also help with the severity of the sickness? I love using 130 as a quick means back to Icemule from the Rift without having to use gold rings so I decided to over train in spirit mana control by 20 ranks so I would see more 5 second RT sickness and less 55 second RT. Thing is this didn't happen, in fact I saw MORE 30+ second RT than before. I know it's still random and I only have my own testing to rely on but this is what I noticed.
Next level I decided to overtrain in PF by 20 ranks because I was still getting 2 cycles sometimes and I was hoping this would give me 1 cycle more often. Well it did, most of the time I have only 1 cycle with 100 ranks of PF but I also noticed that I see a low fewer 30+ second RT sickness now. Quite often I can fog, get one 5 second RT then be on my way.

PF affects the number of cycles of illness.
SMC opens up lower RT for the sickness. SMC won't cap out your RT at a number, it just gives you the chance to get some lower RTs.
This is why it is more awesome being an empath being able to 303PF than it is to be a cleric and 303SMC. The cleric will always still have a chance at seeing the obnoxious RTs.

>>SMC determines whether you have 30 to 45 seconds of RT or 10 to 45 seconds of RT.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the benefit of SMC. I had assumed even with 0 training you could still see a sickness anywhere from 2-55 seconds but with more training you would see the 2 seconds more often. Are you saying with 0 training you'd never see the 2 second roundtime and all SMC does is make the 2 second roundtime possible and does not make it more likely to see the 2 second roundtime?
If that's the case then the benefit of SMC 'caps out'?
