You gesture into the air.
Your vision begins to become murky and clouded. You have a sensation of rapidly passing distance. Eventually your sight begins to clear and a vision of Kratcheck's surroundings fills your mind...
All you see is the blur of the countryside as you soar along.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

So, my character has over 90 ranks of SSL as I said in the title. I'm just curious what sort of scenario would cause a person to be too far still.

They aren't too far. They're on a griffin ride.

You could also receive that messaging for festival grounds, such as Ebon Gate. Basically, if the festival ground has its own thought net, then it's a separate realm and the system won't know if it's connected to any other realm.

Are you sure about that? I seem to remember getting the standard "too far" messaging when locating someone at a festival. The griffin ride message is quite distinctive.

In a festival like EG or CCF, where the entire festival grounds are their own instance, you get the 'too far' messaging when you locate. Mist Harbor is just another regular location, despite having had tents and shops in it for a festival.

And yeah, the griffin ride messaging definitely stands out. So many painful memories of OTF.

I just assumed they were "too far". What other reason could I fail to locate someone for with over 90 ranks of SSL?!

I feel better now that the mystery is solved though. I am likewise prepared to fail due to festival realms being disconnected - which I don't think I ever realized was possible before.

Just out of curiosity, will the same thing occur when locating OUT or AWAY from the festival grounds while I am present within them?

Skimming.

"Scan" actually means to read intently, with great attention.

Writing my last post quickly.

"Quickly writing" actually means to write very deliberately, with great attention.

Reference? I can find a half dozen meanings of quick/quickly, but haven't seen that one.

And "gay" means "happy or carefree" but you know good and well what people mean when they say it.

But ... sources such as Miriam-Webster do give several definitions of "gay", including that referring to sexual orientation. I cannot, however, find that particular usage of quickly, and am curious where it appears. One source in fact defines acting done quickly as something done without deliberation.
