So I am a little confused on what 1209 actually does. It gives you UAF and lets you bypass magical metal requirements but what is this "flare" thing? It randomly lets you bypass all of the defense spells give them and does it work if you are using weapons or only fist/gauntlet/boots? I figured I might as well ask since it doesn't look like my monk will be getting 1209 for a pretty long time.

I fight using unarmed and no weapons, but I can tell you what I see. Every so often, my hands or feet will be surrounded by a golden glow when I attack, and the target's UDF drops if it's wearing spells. This is particularly nice if you're going up against a caster-type creature. In effect, the defensive spells they're wearing just aren't there.
