I noted this another thread, but just an FYI, for MANA SPELLUP, if you know Faith's Clarity (1603) (mostly just applicable to Paladins), it will cast that spell first before all others to help avoid armor hindrance.

Neat.
For some reason I hadn't considered that MANA SPELLUP was subject to hindrance (but it makes a lot of sense, of course). Only using it a little on my Paladin so far, but probably I should use it more often!
There was also a bug filed by someone about how 1603 calculates hindrance. I convinced the person on LNet that it's removing hindrance from the armor base, which can be a big difference for MnS if you're not "fully trained" for MnS. I'll see about making some tables and a new gswiki page (or maybe use 1603 page itself) maybe later, but I'm feeling lazy.

That's funny- I was totally wondering.
Though the initial cast is very much subject to spell hindrance I believe. (unless that's changed) I've had it fail due to armor hindrance before, and it seems to use the failure rate of the first spell cast if I recall.
Or maybe they were fumbles, and I'm confusing them?

You should never see any spell hindrance failure from using MANA SPELLUP. If you are seeing something different, please post a log.

In the past there has been failures due to armor hindrance when using MANA SPELLUP where then NONE of the spells would be cast. I think at one point this counted against your allotment of MANA SPELLUPS that could be used even then was changed to not count on a failure. It's possible that since that time MANA SPELLUP has been updated not to be subject to spell failure due to armor hindrance at all.
If I see any failures going forward I'll post!

I threw on some plate armor and you can still have a failure when using MANA SPELLUP. My log below:
>mana spellup
[Spell Hindrance for some ornate spiked steel full plate is 96% with current Armor Use skill, d100= 45]
Your armor prevents the spell from working correctly.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

I should have tested that myself. The check for the spell hindrance was in a different location. Okay, so it does make a single check for all the spells and I've updated it again to cast Faith's Clarity (1603) first, if known, to help mitigate it.

Wouldn't the spell check already have passed/failed before Faith's clarity gets cast?
It's sort of a non-issue since if there is a failure it doesn't burn one of your MANA SPELLUP uses for the day.

I submitted a 'bug magic', but something you did broke within Zephyr Hall in the Landing.
None of my characters have been able to do a 'mana spellup' in their normal resting room for the last three days, to include mixed-Realm (Empath with 20/20 ranks, even halving the second-Realm would still be 20+10 == 30 == more than the 25 needed) and also single-Realm (the Mage with 50 ranks would qualify even at the higher requirement that it was released at).
Prior to that, it worked just ducky for all of them.
On Monday I thought it may have been because of the time limit, but I haven't seen a torrent being released this entire week so far.

Elemental Mana Control............. 150 50 |
Like I say, over the weekend it was working fine. |
Just type MANA by itself and copy and paste the last line? It should say something like, "You have used the MANA SPELLUP ability 2 out of 2 times for today. The available uses will reset in 4 hours and 15 minutes." or "You have used the MANA SPELLUP ability 0 out of 2 times for today."

Cool beans. I'll give it a whirl when/if the world revives from the destruction that Kenstrom did to it...
In all seriousness: Thank you for whoever did the mana spellup update. It was annoying to have to go to a sanctuary to do it, or cough up the 25 RT (putting plate back on / armor fluidity) just to be able to do it. It's more useful now in the heat of an invasion.

Based on what a few people are saying on LNet this evening it sounds like it is some sort of masked failure message.
[LNet]-GSIV:SomePaladin: "I haven't been able to use it for like two days. I just typed mana spellup like 5 times, and on the 5th time it worked"
[LNet]-GSIV:SomePaladin: "It wasn't an armor failure. It was giving the "cannot control the flows" message you get when you're out of spellups or don't have enough control for it period"

So, I have come across this bug as well.
What I have found as a workaround is this:
MANA SPELLUP (you can't control the flows, blah, blah, blah, even though I haven't used it in 3 or 4 days)
then I do a regular MANA (and it shows me that I have used it 0 out of 2 times today...)
Then I try MANA SPELLUP again, and it works the second time.
