I submitted a BUG report on an interesting thing I noticed:

Looking closely at the faenor ball and chain, you see that it will cost 2500000 coins.
It imparts a bonus of +8 more than usual.
It provides a bonus of 7 to Blunt Weapons Ranks.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 56 times.
It provides a bonus of 6 to Strength.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 17 times.
The ball and chain looks to have a lot of charges remaining.
It will crumble into dust after its last charge is depleted.

Confirmed in the loresong that it (and others) persist.
