SHOP POLICY

3) In the event that your shop is reclaimed by the Shop Permit Authority, your inventory will be held by the permit clerk (in a box identified by your name on the floor of the Shop Permit Authority office) for a maximum of 90 days, after which it will be permanently lost. If you do not see your crate, ask the permit authority about your crate.

Policy 3 has been updated to give you more information on how to get your crates.

5) In the event of a partner being removed from a shop, all belongings and earnings will be crated up and moved into storage. Removed partners have 90 days to reclaim their belongings before the stored crate will be destroyed and lost forever. To retrieve your crate, visit the local authority and ask them for your crate.

Policy 5 has been added and is a new policy

SHOP PARTNER is now functioning again for adding and CLEARing your partners.

I am so excited at the prospect of having a shop!

Will there be a step by step tutorial how to do it? I've already looked at the wiki and it seems like you have to know what to do before it makes sense. At least I could not figure out what to do or where to do it. You know, when the time comes.

This is going to be EPIC!!

I hope so! When the shops were first released the diversity of things for sale was absolutely brilliant, there was something there for everyone.

This is mostly from memory, but here goes.

Once you have a permit in hand, you find a room with a vacant spot (I believe 5 shops can be in each shop-avialable room, so anything with 4 or less would be an option,) and use SHOP CLAIM. Rooms where shops are permitted are in green if you use Narost maps, with the exception of Ta'Vaalor maps, in which they're a couple rooms north of King's Court.

Once that's done, I recommend setting up the directions inside (You can choose which cardinal directions the extended rooms go. I think default is north and east for a 3 room shop. If you only have a one room shop, disregard this step)

After that's done, find the Shop Vendors, which are usually quite near the Permit Vendor, and decorate. Most everything in this step is pretty straight forward, with the exception of containers. Each room comes with ONE default container, however, each room can have two. If you purchase a container, be sure you're either replacing the one you want, or buying a new one. The game syntax tells you how to do it if you read it, but it's easy to skip over in the excitement. This may not be 100% accurate, but I believe the syntax is "order # <roomdirection> swap" to switch or buy the second container.

Smaller items, such a floor decorations, wall decorations, containers, and signs can be purchased from anywhere, however, realistically large items like floor, facade, wall, ceiling, and roof items can only be purchased in the town where your shop is.

I forgot to post what the command for changing the portals for the extended shop rooms. It's SHOP EXTEND. So you would... SHOP EXTEND NORTH SOUTH, to change the north portal to a south portal.

In each warehouse or applicable player shop shop (where things like furniture are sold) you'll find an NPC that sells them. You may wish to locate him before hand, if it's going to be as crazy as some folks expect. I think you purchase them by asking the NPC about one, two, or three room shops. I can't recall the syntax exactly, but they are on the drop down menu if memory serves.
