My cleric found this when going on a rescue to the spider temple. Apparently it came off an arachne servant; I found it near the deceased. I took a look at it and ... saw an enchanter's mark.

look at jedd
You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.

I took it to the Hanging Inn crystal, and ...

> touch cryst
You touch the crystal with one hand, your jeddart-axe in the other hand.

No bonus? Not registering as magical at all? Odd.

So then I blessed it; and then the enchanter's mark was no longer visible when I looked at it, only the faint holy glow. Now I am puzzled; how did a servant get a weapon that was enchanted, why doesn't the crystal; show any magic, and how did I bless a wapon that some wizard had been working on?

I believe all weapons carried by creatures have the enchanters glyph until the creature is dead. Thats my experience anyways.

Hmm? Have to look into that; I'll mug a kobold for it's sword and look.

Alright, I take back what I say about all creatures. Seekers for sure. Illoke I'm somewhat sure of. Harbingers, yep.

Also, INSPECT the weapon, to see what base it is. I had an interesting find the other day with a spear. It had a mark, yet carried no bonus. After an assist, I was told the weapon was negative 4x (-4x) and enchanted to 4x with a base of WOOD. So it worked out to be 0x. I thought it was weird, and going through a lot more trouble than giving it steel, but, it was interesting, none the less.

The struggling elf lets out a final agonized bleat and dies.

Interesting, it carried some baby blue fleece trousers on it.

I've run into the enchanter's mark on Kobold javelins recently too. From what I got told over in the fletching folder it seems that some GM made a change to a system so that now a lot of things get enchanter's marks even if they or not truly enchanted. It was suggested that if I found problems over the situation that I post my concerns/issues over in the magical folders pertaining to enchanting. I don't remember exactly which folder I was told now. Check about 15 - 20 posts back in the fletching folder for a response from GM Tilmont.

Illoke weapons definitely show the enchanter's mark (at least the lower level ones like mystics and shaman).
