Do a lot of folks use scythes? I checked to see how many were in player shops. There seem to be very few. I am supposing this is because they are halbred base-- and everyone that is investing the points to use a polearm is going to use an awl-pike or lance to get the maximum benefit.

I may be in the minority, but i've always liked halberds/scythes/naginatas. I like the speed.
My current primary character uses a naginata now.

Count me in the Halberd user group. My little warrioress swings a Brandestoc, which is halberd base.

Part of the problem is that many scythes were incorrectly made 1HEdged [those should be sickles], and some sickles were incorrectly made Pole Arms [those should be scythes].
Now that the GMs are being more consistent about names, hopefully some of these older items will start disappearing.

Mmmm. Well then I suppose I'll just flow with the roleplay of it and carry a warlance in my back pocket incase I get in trouble. :D Being an elf I'll be able to swing it as fast as a halbred, that's I suppose the issue I was concerned with. If I have the ability to swing a lance as fast as a halbred will I be seriously inhibiting myself by sticking to scythes. I suppose I wont't!
