I noticed that mushroom foraging for the AG was a lot easier for me in Zul than Icemule.

I pinned the size of the bonus for a dwarf foraging black withered mushroom underground at 15 compared to outside.

Does anyone know if this is a mushroom thing or a dwarf thing (or both)?

That's somewhat interesting. I wouldn't expect the foraging system to be that detailed.

After testing a few other things, I think its a bonus dwarfs get in underground terrain and not connected to a particular type of plant or realm.

If Dwarves get an underground bonus, any ideas on other possible racial combinations? I've only been foraging with an elf in Zul Logoth for a while now, though I'd be happy to help future research with my not-overly-skilled elf.

I think the terrain effects on hiding are known (in terms of what race hides better where, rather than the actual size of the bonus), so I'd check wherever you get a hiding bonus against wherever you don't.

Mind checking to see if it's an indoor/outdoor thing rather than specific to underground?

I don't know a way I can check whether a room actually is tagged as inside or out.

I checked a room I think is inside and it doesn't have the bonus.

Could use the rift no? Rooms with exits being inside rooms with paths being outside.

Even outside the Rift. Anywhere in the game, if a room has obvious paths, it's outside. If it has obvious exits, it's inside. The Rift is actually somewhat tricky to check, because the rooms like to flip between inside and outside without any warning.

Gretchen already mentioned it, but you can use the obvious paths/exits as an indicator. The reason I was asking is because I'm doubtful (but not certain) that there's an underground flag for rooms, but suspected it was based on the indoor/outdoor flag.

There is a subterranean terrain. That's where I think the dwarf gets the bonus.
