I'm posting this question here as I'm not really sure where to ask it...

Maynist is covered in soot and ash. This condition doesn't seem to be something that wears off over time. When looking at Maynist, one can see the statement:

"You can hardly recognize him covered in all that soot and ash!"

Also when Maynist flails soot and ash go flying:

"You wildly flail your arms about shooting ash and soot in every direction."

Although I am not certain, I think this condition occurred as a result of falling into the Paupers fireplace when attempting to climb down from the roof when the Halloween spirits invaded the House. I could be wrong, though.

This isn't a problem - I'm not asking for anything from the GMs. However if anyone knows how this condition can somehow be washed away I would appreciate the information, even if it means waiting until the spirits next invade Paupers.

Thanks
Maynist

It should wear off after a while, although most Teras citizens are very frequently covered in ash. I'm pretty sure the verb to clean the ash off is RUB.

Pretty sure a good rub generally takes it off?

If you're a wizard, you could cast 903 at yourself from defensive stance. Not sure if that would work, but it results in this:

>prep 903
Your hands glow with power as you invoke the phrase for Minor Water...
Your spell is ready.
>stance d
You are now in a defensive stance.
>cast
>
You gesture.
Water sprays forth and scours you clean!
A splash of water hits you squarely, drenching you from head to toe!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
(Forcing stance down to guarded)

Pretty sure its <RUB yourname>, ie, RUB MIKALMAS. If its not RUB its definitely Dust, but you have to use your name IIRC.

While quite a few other things give messaging that indicates its gone, I think only RUB actually removes it.

You can also RUB <character> to clean someone else off. Some people get inordinately cranky if you do, though.

Some elven wizards also get cranky if people are dusty, so it is a potential danger either way.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I did visit Teras briefly to do some locker maintenance - guess that's where I pick up the ash. Sure doesn't take much - I don't even remember walking out of town.

I think we're long overdue to build a giant dome to cover the town and keep the ashes out. For far too long these ashes have been just showing up in town whenever they feel like it, and it's time to put a stop to it.

It's time to Make Teras Clean Again. #MTCA

You see High Inquisitor Brinret Ithillote the Executor of Vengeance.
She appears to be of elven descent.
He is very tall and appears to be full grown.
You whisper aloud, "I'm so confused right now."
