I'm new to the game and want to be a rogue:

How should I spend my stat points at the starting of the game? Aswell as how should I train? Again since I'm new I'd like to keep things as simple as possible...

Thankyou

Welcome! If you want quick and simple, there are buttons in the web character manager interface to automatically assign stats and skills on the respective pages. Using them gives good results for new players.

If you post the name of your character and the city you are starting in I am sure there are a few of us that could meet you in game and show you some up the ropes.

I will echo the Wolfloner on that one.

I am not terribly good with stats. I placed Kretan's eons ago and just put them high where I thought they should be for rogues (AGI, DEX, STR, WIS) but not too high since those grow pretty fast. Kept Aura a little high... don't remember why.

Training plan changes for me with every training. I kinda play by the seat of my pants.

But, generally he is an ambusher. So, I always train in Hiding, Ambush, Edged Weapons, Combat Maneuvers, Physical Fitness, Dodging and Armor training.

I keep my Edged Weapons and Ambush training to the max at every level. Everything else is variable including the lockpicking.

Definatley let us know where you are at and your character's name. We rogues gotta stick together. :)

Rogues have several possible training plans, depending on what you want to do with them.

A) You can be a primary picker, with less than optimal hunting skills (though still quite capable of hunting)
B) Be a pure combat rogue, kill things like crazy, but be unable to pick any boxes.
C) Middle of the road option, with good combat abilities and fair to middling locksmith skills.

"So, what does that green line on the graph represent?"

Here is a possible path for a pure combat rogue. Note that she is in Voln, hence the brawling for Voln-fu. If she dropped the brawling, it would free up more TPs for something like CM training. Also note the TWC training, for that second ambush attack. Dropping that for the more traditional OHE or OHB plus shield would free up some more TPs. Dodge is a major factor in defence for the TWC rogue.

And here is my middle of the road rogue; again, she is in Voln, so hence the brawling skill, which could easily be sacrificed for something else. She is decent in combat and can pick some boxes, but isn't particularly good at any one thing.

Lastly, I have a little weenie of a rogue that I was playing with, to try a locksmithing type. She has only brawling as a weapon type (yes, in Voln again), but also, sais are quite nice to use when ambushing eyes, unless the target is in heavy armor; she's also pretty good at hiding. She is close to 3x in disarm and lockpicking. Eventually she would want to get spells 401-404, to get the best results from her locksmith skills.

In no way are these three to be regarded as the epitome of training; I am sure others can suggest more refinements. I do like to try and not convert TPs, though; I regard this as somewhat inefficient.
