In testing the darkling's special DELIVER feature my friend and I found that the "shadowy mist" tunnel can go up to and including ten rooms away. Currently I only have 53 ranks in demonology and I am wondering if more lore might increase the range on this communication type, making it more useful. Can anyone with more demonology lore test it out and see if the "shadowy mist" tunnel can go more than ten rooms away?

It's quite interesting, this ability, though with such a short range I am having trouble imagining how I would use it. Something to do with being hidden or invisible, maybe - I'm not even that worried about its practicality but I'm not even sure how I would use it in RP, despite thinking on it for a while. If lore could affect this aspect, that might make it more attractive to try to use the special ability. Wouldn't it be awesome if one could use it to xrealms converse with a ton of lore?

Oh, and trivially, there's a typo - sepErates should be sepArates.

I am fairly certain that the shadowy mist can go much further than 10 rooms, but I have not tested it recently. It is a great way to create a conversation with someone (other than via the amunet) while working on alchemy. You may want to carry a scroll with Darkness (206) on it just in case the room you are in is a bit bright.

I always assumed (never tested) that the mist could be used anywhere that was in the same realm and that had the appropriate lighting conditions.

I originally had that understanding as well but it seems to me that some testing I did some years ago changed my mind on that. On the other hand, the testing I did the other night wasn't very strict on lighting as a variable and my tests years ago likely weren't either.

I'll research some more. Thanks for the feedback.
