Im sure folks are familar with what im about to share already and if not food for thought.

Make a customer happy and you're lucky to here from 1 out of 100; piss a customer off and you'll here from all 100 (repeatedly).

Perception is reality or truth for the most part. Regardless of how you perceive yourself, my perception (and potentially others) will lean towards the negative if everything you tend to share is negative. If you think this is directed at yourself or a particular person well you just proved my point.

Props to players that remember to share the positive with our GMs on a regular basis to hopefully drown out some of the negative. Let's face it, it seems the perception on these boards a lot of times is GMs can't seem to get anything right which is not the case. I definitely agree with sharing opinions and open discussion, but how things are worded can convey whether you are open to other opinions or a close minded individual.

As I gaze over the horizon, the wind tugs at my cloak and whispers, "Adventure" in my ear.

You're absolutely right, Kaight. I HEAR you there.

If you compare the number of posts in "The Good" vs "The Bad," the latter outweighs the former by a considerable amount.

I think that's mostly because we have a very vocal minority who seem to put a lot of things they dislike on blast, while I can't recall seeing any at length posts from those players commending a change. Sure, there's a few who do both, but for the most part, it's one side or the other, and the nay-sayers vocalize their complaints far more often than the rest.

This isn't something that's magically unique to GS.

This probably isn't nearly as accurate as you might think. When good things happen, the GMs' efforts are by no means ignored and are almost always met with great praise.

It just usually isn't done this folder. i.e. Wizard stuff gets praised in the wizard folder, sorcerer stuff gets praised in the sorcerer folder, etc.

The sooner people get past "It's not what you said it's how you said it" and just focus on the points the people posting are making, the better.

Also keep in mind that tone of voice gets lost in text. So what you might perceive as someone speaking in a negative tone might not be intended to be negative at all.

If you come across a post like this that you perceive as negative, condescending, etc., read it in Kermit the Frog's voice.

That will fix pretty much anything.
