a thin-bladed eonake no-dachi with a braided vruul skin hilt

I'm pretty sure it was a random gen, but interesting all the same.

+20 enchant and sanct'd and nada past that as far as I can tell without a bard just by doing the usual info/skill check for enhacives and the AI crystal.

I want to say that is my first eonake weapon I have found.

Not a random gen. Things don't randomly gen with long descriptions as far as I know.

I found "some vaalin traced full plate with etchings" or something really close to that a few years ago, that was a random gen. It inspects as vaalin too.

If the no-daichi was GM made, well then I found your item, and thanks for making it.

I don't think that's a random gen either. If it doesn't fit standard 15/15/15, it's not random gen.

Due to I asked about it at the time and was told it was.

As I was curious as vaalin is not allowed to be armor or weapons per the docs on the material page, hence why I asked about the armor. I looked and they are "Some vaalin traced full plate", so they hit the 15/15/15.

Either way, people need to post up moar stuff they find!

I'm guessing you missed the reply I made.

And I'll take the GM's reply, over current speculation, that it was a random gen when I asked originally a few years ago about that particular item.

As to the no-daichi, it was late and I completely missed the vruul skin bit. Still neat if someone made it and because I don't recall finding an eonake weapon before.

Didn't they say that if an item was tossed, or left on the ground, rather than janitor it, it goes back in the queue but with added descriptors to make it even MORE noticeable so that someone would pick it up? Perhaps that's what happened here.

I'm pretty sure that pertains to nicer items that were originally GM made and got skipped over from being picked up for some reason. But even then a GM adds to the look in that example so it would be kinda sort GM made, or altered, at that point.

I normally am not very aware at 2-3 am when I found it and I didn't see the vruul skin wrapped hilt until I saw my post the next day. Truth be told I almost didn't pick it up.

So I would agree that the eonake no-daichi was a GM made item, unless staff wants to say the treasure system can add the occasional long. If that is the case that would be pretty interesting to know.

There are two parts to "the treasure system."

First are the items that are hand-made by GMs, and loaded into the feeders for you all to find eventually. These are usually long description items, or they have a show. Weapons can show up directly in critter hands, or non-weapons will be in boxes.

Second is GameMaster Roger. He's our random object generator, and he does exactly what his name implies. Constantly on duty, ready to make loot for you guys, he's a total work horse. He's responsible for the standardized weapons, armor, jewelry, and magic items you find. So an enhancive with level restrictions on it? That came from him. Gold-edged vultite broadswords, and other such things that follow a set pattern of descriptors also come from this side of the treasure system.

Now, where the line blurs a little is when ROGer's awesome work gets left behind for the janitor. We can snag those items back from the janitor (since no one wanted it the first time!), slap a fancier description on them so they'll get noticed, and send them back out through the first part of the treasure system. Case in point, I rescued about 20 passed over (enhancive) weapons from the janitor last week, repainted them, and they're waiting to go out and arm critters!

So keep your eyes peeled, and your crossbow loaded.

I've always wondered...do items generated by Roger ever just look like plain normal items? Like something really mundane like "A jet black belt", for example?

I pretty much pick up any item besides things like bent bracelets and smooth stones and other well known junk items just in case, but after several years of all of those items being junk anyway and worth a few coins (if any) at the pawnshop, I figured I'd go ahead and ask.

It was said:

So that jet black belt needs to be in a box to be generated by Roger, as I read it. Then again, various articles of clothing easily sell for a few hundred coins, often more than 1k at the pawnshop. Might not be a lot, but it's better than most normal magic items. And it's not that hard to find say, a vest with a couple pockets, which you can sell to a player for 20k pretty easily. Again, not the sweet sweet enhancive you're after, but loot is loot, after all.
