I would be forever grateful if Staff would reconsider the addition of the extra junk gems to loot boxes.
Even with a 13 item disk I run out of room way too soon, causing more tedium and less fun.
Thanks,

Here would be a more fun solution. The cheap gem destroyer:
[Lower Dragonsclaw, Forest]
You release the scents of the various herbs growing on the forest floor with your steps. They mingle with the breeze that courses through the trees to create an ever-changing, but always pleasant, aroma. You also see the Full disk.
Obvious paths: north, northeast, southwest
>put trunk in disk
Your trunk won't fit in the Full disk.
>drop trunk
You drop a badly damaged modwir trunk.
>po
Mana Points: 87 Remaining: 87
>prep 514
You intone a phrase of elemental power while raising your hands, invoking Stone Fist...
Your spell is ready.
>cast trunk
You gesture at a badly damaged modwir trunk.
The ground beneath you rumbles, then erupts in a shower of rubble that coalesces in to a wide hand with stubby fingers in mid-air. It reaches down to a badly damaged modwir trunk and grabs it!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
>
The stone hand hurls a badly damaged modwir trunk to the ground, and you hear a sharp, tinkling crunch.
A low rumbling noise sounds from within the wide stone hand with stubby fingers. It erupts into a myriad of stone fragments that hit the ground and crumble into invisible dust.
>po
Mana Points: 87 Remaining: 82
>get trunk
You pick up a badly damaged modwir trunk.
>put trunk in disk
You put a badly damaged modwir trunk in the Full disk.

<<I would almost prefer they just make disks bigger. (Like remove the item # capacity limit and change it to a weight based system only.) -- More lore = more weight. -Sylvancode>>
This sounded good the first time I read it, then I thought about what the weight limit would be. It would suck to find one big box and not be able to fit it in a disk. The item limit makes sense for precisely that reason. I think the best solution is to just add the cheap gems as normal extra gem drops instead of in boxes.
I think this change happened a little too quickly after a couple people complained about not being able to find cheap gems. A little more time before implementation and staff might have foreseen this issue and gone, "oh hey, this might not be that much fun afterall!" It's not too late to reach that conclusion and make a slight shift to something better.

I don't know what boxes you're finding but if you can't fit a box into a disk that has a 500 pound weight capacity, I NEED TO HUNT THERE!
To my knowledge, disks have an 8 item, or 500 pound capacity. I doubt we'd get that, but I imagine it's much easier to change disks than it is to have creatures poop out another gem instead of having it be stuffed in a box.
Either way, things work fine the way they are and the change was made because people complained, now people are complaining about it again. If it gets changed again I imagine people are going to complain that their gem sacks are filling too quickly with crappy gems. What then!? When does the madness stop?!

If it were only weight, undoubtedly they'd lower the capacity down from 500 pounds. Also, and I realize you were kidding, but no one could pick up a 500 pound box, (max weight you can lift is your body weight).
As for which is easier, there are already critters that drop extra gems. Hopefully there's some code there that can be borrowed.
