You tap a heavy black vellum page illuminated with lines of winter white enamel in a faded green leather pack.
You see nothing unusual.
There appears to be something written on it.
In the Common language, it reads:
Between the echoes of the doubting days,
I pause again, and look within my heart.
Our paths divide beyond a seaman's chart,
But still we echo through each other's ways,
Complete the chant and solve the secret maze,
Divide our lives and loves, beloved, no more--
I wait for you beyond the Ebon door.
I found it interesting to say the least, and here I thought it was going to be a fancy scroll.

It's interesting in that it seems to refer to different areas.
- "Solve the secret maze" looks like on the path to the graveyard (or up on the glacier), while
- "beyond the Ebon door" is a pretty clear clue to the Spider Temple.
- I could argue that "complete the chant" could be the portal to the lower Crypt in the GY, or even through into the Shadow Pasture area, but
- "beyond a seaman's chart" makes me think "off the map", which would be up on the moon somewhere through the Misty Chamber.
.
.
Mind you, it could just be a GM getting the poetic license on. :)

Woods to the Graveyard

The Graveyard gate itself?

I'm going with my original post/thought. It's just something different a GM made for someone to find.
I like it, and the other odd things they do like, the Zul propaganda for example. Those items amuse me for some odd reason and I'm glad not everything we find has to be mechanically based.
Don't get me wrong I love finding weapons and armor.
Probably my favorite item was a granite ring that had a short engraving (READ) on it. I lost it to a decay unfortunately.
