Where can stormcloud diamonds be found? on 03/10/2014 04:57 PM CDT

I ground up some stormcloud diamonds today as part of an alchemy assignment. Since the guild has them for grinding I am assuming they can be somewhere in the lands. Anyone know where these might drop?

Stormcloud diamonds drop on FWI, which can only be hunted in warcamps at the moment.

I dont think Ive ever found a stormcloud diamond in a camp on four winds and I have quite a lot of experience there.

Jainna, are you confirming they do drop on four winds? Is it possible there's a bug making them not drop?

They can be found in boxes from warcamps on Mist Harbor. Grimswarm themselves don't drop gems and it is intended, to my knowledge.

Ive burned about 200 camps(conservative estimate) and opened so many boxes from them on mist harbor that even if rare it should have come up by now....

I wasn't confirming or denying. Merely observing that they're purple. ;) I don't know the mechanics in which they drop, but GM Aulis says they drop in boxes! Gems have different rarity levels just like metals and woods. From what I can tell, these diamonds are pretty rare. FWI gems in general are fairly rare just because the Grimswarm are the only place to get them.
