As we know value of an object, outside of it's utilitarian purpose, is often a result of rarity. In the case of skins in Gemstone IV, this is not the case. We can surmise that the rarest skins would be the most dangerous to get but, unfortunately, these are often not the most valuable. I propose an overhaul of skin values in game which weights the values based on the level of creature they are pulled from. The following is a rough draft of a value formula:
Base skin value - 10 silver per creature level
No Treasure - 100% increase in base value for creatures who have no other treasure or 50% for limited treasure (i.e. griffons, fire cats)
Designer Discretion - Small modifiers on a per creature type basis for being in hard to reach places or a particular difficulty with skinning (i.e. krag dwellers, myklians)
Skinning skill - Variable adjustment from 50% to 200% based on level of success
Leave the current value adjustment for more or less frequently sold skins. Perhaps accelerate it.
