I purchased a dark leather survival kit from Survive and Thrive, and it appears that the kits have the same actions as the auto-bundling kits. However, it doesn't seem to auto-bundle herbs - putting two of the same herb in the kit doesn't bundle the herbs. I've verified that even taking an herb out, doing a bundle remove, and putting the two pieces back in the kit doesn't create a bundle. Is this expected behavior?

Analyze doesn't mention a need for unlocking, unlock the harnesses in Fortified Fortress (which I really want to know who can unlock those, but I've had no luck hunting it down so far.) I realize that doesn't mean it doesn't need an unlock, but it's a bit confusing.

You analyze your dark oilskin harness and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:

The dark oilskin harness isn't unlocked. It has 4 verbs.

When altering, keep in mind that the harness's messaging references large and small containers, and a row of weapon slots and straps. These can all be altered by a skilled merchant. The should remain plural. Currently, they are set to slots (wands and small weapons), straps (belted weapons), a series of straps (back weapons), large sacks (bundled weapons), narrow tubes (paper and scrolls), small pouches (trinkets), and containers (anything else).

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the dark oilskin harness for you or deepen its pockets.

So now I know the correct name for the script/type of harness. Now I just need to to figure out who is the right merchant to unlock it, if possible.

FYI - I spoke with GM Elidi today who confirmed the survival kits are locked herb auto-bundlers, even though there is currently not verbiage showing it as such. We were advised to post our complaints about it here so please do so if you have an issue with it and the Shop Owner will review and respond.

I have the exact same question problem and when you analyze them they say nothing about being unlocked and there were no signs as to such and also EVERY OTHER SURVIVAL KIT that I have ever seen has been an auto bundler. Any
chance on a clarification please?

The kits at EG were locked.

This past EG was the first time I've seen them locked at all, or heard of them being a locked item. EG 13 and 14, as well as other events prior to EG 15, they were sold off the shelf with bundling capabilities active. I bought numerous kits at events throughout 2013 and 2014(EG '14 their max capacity was "fixed" and I remember a bit of an uproar on the boards concerning them, so I know for certain that those were bought at that venue), and all of them bundled straight away. I think it's just something that was changed to a locked status OTS and was not communicated.

Thanks for clarifying these are a locked item, and Ebon's Gate is where to look for unlocks! A bit sad to have purchased one expecting it was auto-bundling by default (the wiki didn't mention these required unlocking,) but I can update the wiki accordingly. Thanks!
