Every Lord and Lady throughout the realm these days can be found in one seaport bar or another bragging to their compatriots about having the fastest ship, the most capable crew, best sails, cannons, parrot, yadda, yadda, yadda, the list goes on and the braggadocio never ends.
This begs the question: Who actually DOES have the fastest ship and deftest crew in the realm?
Iskandr Tamarack would like to know!
He would like to quell all these tall tales of 'best on the sea,' so he invites you to try your hand in a bit of a Gentleman and Gentlewoman's race this Feastday (Saturday) night at 11:30 EST. Anyone with a seaworthy or less-than-seaworthy ship is invited to attend. Meet at the North Dock Catwalk where the dock handler spends his days (lich # 29631) promptly at the designated time on Feastday night.
Iskandr will lay out the rules of the race when the sailors have gathered, and then, he will send you on your way. He will post up a compatriot at the dock handler of a SECOND destination (both name of compatriot and location will be revealed at the start of the race) and that compatriot will direct the racers to a THIRD and FINAL destination where Iskandr will meet the victors and/or survivors. Anyone left standing will then (of course) retreat to a local pub to fully celebrate the victors.
Iskandr may or may not turn up a few awards of merit from his vast lockers of oddities, but this is truly focused on being a gentlefolk's contest to secure bragging rights pure and true until the victors are dethroned in a future race.
So let the best Lord or Lady win!

Also: Just a note, I created the ESP Channel "shipraces" as an IC amunet-y place where (a) Iskandr can scare you about the weather during the race, (b) captains can talk a bit of IC trash as we go (since everyone will kind of be on the own, nice way to keep a bit of IC communication up).
So might be helpful to type ESP Channels LIST and then click on "shipraces," maybe even set the word in some color that will allow you to send choice words back and forth (without bothering the main channels and such).
