A giantman trots by carrying a waxed shield. He yells out, "Oy, the strangers have figured out how to run the slalom course, so they're making it like it -should- be! Faster! They're resetting the scoreboards, too!"

And we were afraid you'd have trouble getting the hang of it! Have fun!

Yeah, I've been getting rocked by my less than stellar connection. Oh well, it's still fun! I can't wait for hammer toss to open up.

Is the "You struggle to... (stand/kneel/lie)" really intended to be so extreme? I assume its due to injuries, but my dwarf just had multiple failures trying to lie down and all he had was a chest minor and an arm minor. It sort of defeats the purpose of being able to recover after a wipe-out and grab a stray shield if you can't actually continue to maneuver with the slightest injuries.

Regardless, great game.

This seems bugged...

[Shield Slalom, Wendigo Course]
Several large boulders pose a dangerous threat to any competitor who strays too close. Attesting to the precarious nature of the descent, bloodstains and bits of tattered clothing are strewn at the base of the rocks. An irregular lump of snow near the sidelines could easily be a snow-covered corpse. You also see a large ice tunnel and some massive iron basket torches.
Obvious paths: none
R>A sudden blizzard obscures your view, when the snow clears things look different.
R>lie
You manage to lay down on your large waxed shield.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
PR>As you race towards the <<massive crevasse>> you realize you are not ready at all to clear such an obstacle. Panic ensues as you rocket off the edge and fall for what seems like an eternity before hitting the bottom!
Your large waxed shield flies out of your hands and skims down the mountain ahead of you!
... 5 points of damage!
Blow raises a welt on your right arm.
... 5 points of damage!
You hear a buzzing in your ears from that blow!
... 10 points of damage!
Blow to your back cracks several vertebrae.
[Shield Slalom, Wendigo Course]
Throwing deceptive shadows across the snow, a copse of tall pines is clustered at the track's center. Grooves on either side yawn invitingly, yet neither side shows an obvious advantage. Dented helms lie nearby, half-buried in ice and pine needles. You also see some jagged rocks and some massive iron basket torches.

If you have any kind of arm wounds, it's going to make it difficult.

The sudden blizzard changes the obstacle for the section of the course you're on. Just in case it was getting to be too easy...

Heh, it actually is possible to get negative scores if you are going too slowly. Especially on the Snowbunny Course.

Especially when you lose your shield on the first obstacle and roll all the way down.

Nope, not bugged. While you're on the course, if you see a blizzard, look again quickly. A blizzard can "blow" you into a different obstacle. So, you may have been headed for the ice tunnel, but the blizzard caused you to be sent to the crevasse instead.

Ahh, it was the arm... Okay, I suppose that does make sense.

Is there an absolute maximum score available?

The first place winner will be able to select from the following list:

Rolaren full plate (with a loresong that's not QC'd yet, but will be added)
A signature verb or swear
A scripted claidhmore
or any of the items shown as prizes in Premium 6

The second place winner chooses from what is left, and the third from what is left after that.
