Hi There!

During the first (only?) Illyan Cloud merchant event or somewhere around 1999, there was a merchant who provided image consulting services. This merchant would go OOC with the character in a secret room after winning her spin. (She did five of these).

She would work with the player on identifying, educating, and providing support on roleplaying aspects of the character. For example, when you see Ramladu, he has quite a few intricate facial features as well as some dragon-motif gear. Consulting with the merchant, I was able to A: Get some nice alterations, B: Get feedback from a GM on values, culture, etc... that I envision my character to be a part of. I.E. Somewhat crazed, somewhat reserved warrior who blindly loves Koar but also has an affinity to toy dragons, taking his "toy dragons" into battle with him as if they were alive, in the fray as they held tightly to his containers (toy dragon peering out from, scythed toy dragon, et all).

So, from the premium OOC meeting last week, it was recommended to post the idea here so others may learn of it and perhaps revive it.

So, plainly, an image consultant character, perhaps a tailor / librarian / nip tucker folk that sets the player up with a few alterations per person related to their character (has to be related to roleplay) while also listening to the character's ideas of how he or she roleplays to give some feedback. Perhaps you don't need to go all out OOC and it's a merchant event where you pull five people into a special room and do an IC roleplay regarding the characters selected, to learn and offer advice from a GM perspective.
