Is it intentional that the creature advancing reacts as though I have successfully hid when it gets to melee with the alfar guarding me?

* Moving well, an yvhh la'tami swells its neck ruff, extends its wings and charges headlong at you. You dodge, stepping aside with ease.
[You're solidly balanced and in dominating position.]

A pure white alfar avenger moves to guard you, but can't wedge herself between your current engagements!
A pure white alfar avenger searches the area.

The yvhh la'tami is still a distance away from you and is closing steadily.
A pure white alfar avenger searches the area.

Appearing to have lost sight of its target, the yvhh la'tami stops advancing.

Found a few more, however, one seems to be just a typo.
One of the perks in plat is PTD's (Personal Teleportation Devices, otherwise known as Jumpy Jewelry, or JJ). Last night I jumped from Crossing to Aesry, and you guessed it, Arnie followed me there. While I know they will follow the caster, I doubt if it was intended for them to follow over such a distance. While I was on Aesry, the avenger would step in and do its thing, even when I was in the middle of climbing the stairs.
Addtionally, is there any way for us to cast SOP on them? We can cast it on critters, so why not our alfars? Also, is it possible to receive a message when we lose our alfar in transit?

From:
[North Turnpike, Grassland]
The scent of rotting vegetation rises from a cut by the road where loose rocks and stones mix with the weeds to mark the start of a small gully. To the right of the road, a small herd of cows rests beneath a large oak tree as they chew their cuds and watch a spirited calf chase a butterfly fluttering across the pasture. You also see a brown-robed monk.
Also here: Provocateur Mellisandre.
Obvious paths: northeast, south.
I summoned the avenger, and then jumped to:
You are suddenly engulfed in an explosion of crimson flames and find yourself elsewhere...
[Aesry Surlaenis'a, Staho Pivo'hrr'schu'Mus]
Gleaming like a pearl on blue velvet in the light, the thick cloud surrounding Eluned's temple stretches out thin tendrils of mist onto the Liva'an Chawalkas. A long flight of basalt steps leads down to the terrace surrounding the lake.
Also here: a stunned Provocateur Mellisandre.
Obvious paths: south.
With a warrior's calm, a pure white alfar avenger steps in and surveys the area.

Mellisandre begins climbing down the basalt steps.

You reach the end of the basalt steps.

The red and white crushed shells of the staho end at the base of a long flight of basalt steps which lead to the next terrace. Several houses line the street, their dark stone columns holding up thick paper screens decorated with images of crashing waves.
Obvious paths: north.

A granite gargoyle pounds at a pure white alfar avenger. A pure white alfar avenger fails to evade, failing miserably. The fist lands a light hit to its left arm knocking it backward onto its rear end!
a pure white alfar avenger leaps back and makes a lot of angry noises at a granite gargoyle!
[Typo being the lower case "a" at the start of the second line. As a side note, I'm a bit disappointed that my avenger can't stand up to a single gargoyle when I have no problems standing up to two of them.]

Conversely, my woodwisp wouldn't budge out of the slipways in rats, followed me in the bank but not out and got stuck in Annael's room in the Empath guild. It's really annoying when your Guardian won't move.
A ship's rat scurries into view.
The ship's rat tries to tend its wounds.

>Yeah, their FA reqs are a real pain.
heh, silly...
I was playing around with GS for a bit last night in small peccs, and I am just in awe of what you folks have done with this spell! So nice, thank you!
(lavishes you with praises)
Some suggestions, since it looks like you're still tweaking around a bit with it:
-It was mentioned before, but change them so they aren't "defaulted" to when a hunter is in there with you and advances the next. My poor little guardian almost got an arrow through his head last night...tee hee
-When they are getting hit, it would be neat see their wounds, like you do on a critter. I read that it won't matter if they do get smacked around, they will leave. However, I would like to dismiss them (from a RP'ing standpoint) when I see they are looking scuffy. They are there to help me, and since I can't heal them, I don't want them suffering any more on my account...
-Another repeat suggestion, let us be able to 'study' them to assess who's spirit is there with you.
And, for the 'pipe dream' suggestion today...:P
-Let us be able to indicate which critter we would like the spirit to 'focus' on when guarding. For instance, let's say I have a pecc and a fen both at melee with me. I want the GS to protect me, if possible, from the fen first, and if it get's the pecc too, ok. Maybe we can 'command <spirit> for focus <critter>', and although they will still suceed or fail based on whatever method they have now, they will try harder to get the critter you have indicated they should focus on.
Again, WOW. I hope you magic guys are basking back there, this spell turned out so neat, thank you!
