I just noticed that while in a parry stance I completely FAIL to parry any incoming attacks. As a result I have died twice. I was able to block them with a shield and dodge using evasion, however every attempt to use a weapon to PARRY resulted in near-death and eventual death on several attempts to use.
Is there something wrong with the parry system or did blood wolves just suddenly become immune to the parry defence.

What are you using to parry? How many ranks do you have in the relevant weapon class?

I don't know if it has anything to do with his problem, but with 81 ranks of parry, stanced 100 evasion 81 parry, 79 HE, lightly hindered with a fairly balanced weapon and 18 reflex my parry sucks to my Shield ability. With even my small arm-worn shield without YS up (fairly hindered), in Beisswurms, I can handle up to 9 wurms and never, -ever- get touched, I switch to parry with any more than 3 and they start hitting me, with my shield out I have zero worry there, infact it even still locks there (and trains my lower armors), Parry doesn't even learn there anymore (they cap at 80 I think), and Parry isn't even effective there. So, I don't get parry.

check the balance of the weapon your parrying with. if its less then fairly. your going to see a huge gap between your paryring and your small shield usage.

I stated it was fairly balanced, to be more specific it is a fairly balance bastie. I recently switched to a reasonably balance broadsword to see if I noted any improvement, I did, I could handle up to 4 beisswurms without ever being hit, but 5 I started to get hit still. With shield, even my worn small shield, I can handle up to 9 beisswurms without being touched, at all, even with 4 wurms the occasional hit fell through.

I don't know what else I could do to improve parry, I'd love to use it as my main defense, considering I need it to circle and it learns at a secondary rate for me while shield is tert. Alot of people say weapon balance doesn't factor that heavily into the equation anyway. It seems to me that unless your unhindered, with a decent balanced weapon and great stats parry just doesn't stack up. It's crazy that beisswurms hit me at all with parry, considering they don't even teach the skill any further.

well. a few tips that might help.

stance attack 0
then you can have evasion and parry at 100.

and dont just stand there in parry mode.

repeat parry feint draw to maintain position. since your useing 0% attack you wont have to worry about killing your precious critters.

also make sure you are parring with your primary wepaon skill, because weapon ranks count for some things.

And use your guild given buffs! what ever they are. we all suck without them.

Judging defenses by how many of a critter you can dance with safely is a terrible measure of your ability. 5-9 critters is an obscene multi penalty (not sure how bad with the recent changes). Evasion gets the biggest multi penalty, Parry the second largest multi penalty, and shield has the smallest. If beisswurms have stopped teaching, move to a harder critter and fight less of them at once.
