Since Ssra mentioned some weapons trade off damage for added flexibility, I figured Light Edged falled into that realm of catagory.
I'm just wondering, what can ya'll envision for added flexibility for Light Edged?

I think the trade-off for light edge is speed for damage. While the light edge won't be the most powerful (damage wise) knife in the drawer, you'll be able to hit with it more times. By the same token, you won't be hitting with your claymore as often but boy will it pack a punch!
Factors that I have to remember to consider in a weapon class that's not listed in an appraisal include: weight, size of the weapon, fatigue, roundtime
Or am I missing the point with the question?

I don't think missing the point, I think just hoping there would be more. The 'speed' bonus for Le is very slight. In fact, its extremely close to some of the light medium edged weapons with a significantly smaller 'punch'. So flexibility in things like light thrown weapons might be alternate attacks such as the bola being used to wrap around a vicim's feet and knock them over, or extra damage done with lodged weapons.
Now there are some similar small stealth attacks that the thieves have, and probably asking for something along the lines of those extra attacks. That's not to say we should get those attacks. I think thieves have a nice little nook to use with some special attack abilities. But an extra use for LE outside of just being a quick mini blade would be nice bonus flexibility. Maybe not a kill attack, but something disabling. I'd post an example, but my brain isn't being quite as creative after a long week of work.

>>I'd think that when dual wielding comes out, LE is going to be a very favorable off hand weapon, perhaps even with some parry boosts, or such.
Precisely what I was thinking. Infact, that's probably one of the things I dream about most in DR. Dual off hand LE with a parry boost(I hate evasion and shield).

The problem with this is that pretty much everything you mentioned goes against LE. The fact is, with forged weapons you can get almost the exact same rt with ME as with LE. You also get BETTER stats at 21 stones less, and an entire level better slice at 12 stones less with a scimitar than with a katar. Start looking at special metals and that becomes 2 levels better slice at the same weight.
All of this leads to less rt, less weight, and less fatigue using ME rather than LE.
