What are the odds you were stanced 100% parry and the rest into either Shield of Evasion? 80% of 700 is only 560 effective defense. Throw on a modest skill boost and a lucky shot and I could see getting owned in that situation.

He gave me an exptell which is why I asked if it could be fudged. If it CANT be fudged Im all in on HT in the future.. Because I can throw that spear or whatever alot faster than I can load my crossbow.

Was your last attack a dodge or parry, or was it a sweep or lunge?

my last attack was a tackle! I was messing around... I wonder if thats what it was.

Yeah tackle basically tanks your evasion and stances. I was playing around and tackling a friend then forgot and got into combat to backtrain a weapon and died an embarrassing death thanks to that.

Dragon dance gives a percentage boost and at 500 ranks won't be anywhere near game-breaking.

I knew it had to be something since currently LX > thrown.

BS can pop your damage up to insane levels, but I don't think the bonus to hit is quite as high. It is quite possible to miss with a backstab despite successfully passing the perception test, which would not be the case (most of the time) after, say, 150 weapon ranks in a weapon, if it was a 500% boost on the to hit side.

But, in my experience, khri spar at the post 60 discipline level is a close match up to dragon in terms of straight weapon boost.

Tackle killed you. Don't even think about dropping an aimable weapon for a thrown if your goal is killing people with considerably higher defenses (especially shield) than your ranged weapon.

Its defiantly absolutely tackle that killed you.

All the "Grappling" brawl moves have amazingly huge penalties or seem to completely turn off all defenses or something equally broken.

I'm shocked you didn't get one shotted.

Dodge or parry would do the trick.
