PFE or not? on 09/28/2016 08:09 PM CDT

I had a cleric cast PFE on me before I went into the Zaulfung, but a greater hound's fleshrot breath came right through it and got me diseased anyway. It was a little cleric who could only pump 9 mana into it for 12 minutes. Does anyone know if it requires more mana to make it effective? Or is it possibly bugged?

Weren't holy magic interactions with the skeletal hands previously broken by the latest spell rewrite? Possibly the hounds special attack is still looking up old spell IDs, too.

PFE still blocks it, but uncurse doesn't open it.

Since I wasn't sure if it was a bug or a clerical issue, I cross-posted to Clerical Combat. Grejuva said it's probably that PFE doesn't give non-clerics the same protection as it does a cleric. That seems a curious feature design to me. It's like if a non-moonie went through a moongate, the spell would only do a partial teleport and leave an arm behind or something.

There's a president for holy spells doing more for the caster. Annoying in this circumstance, but not totally unusual.
