Is it just me, or the adan'f mages seem to be alot easier than the warriors?

with ME 201 and Backstab 265 I one shot every mage, but with every other warrior, it takes two, sometimes three hits...

Also, it could just be my perception, but mages seem to drop alot more boxes than the warriors, like a 1 to 4 ratio.

For the last month, i've hunted nothing but adan'f, and from clear, one backstab of a mage brings my BS to learning and one backstab of a warrior brings it to thoughtful.

by no means scientific, but maybe others have seen the same thing?

If you can get past their parry, the mages are in fact easier. I can't say anything about the box ratios, though.

Sounds about right. Mages have better mentals- they can ward of WvW spells better than warriers, but do seem easier to kill. There could well be an armor issue to- I never pay much attention to armor, but aren't the warriers wearing the plate?

Yup. I've snagged half-plates for people like that- though they would need some serious repair.

It depends on the number of hunters. I can't handle it because my multi is a bit low- But it seems pretty decent.

The thing about the gen in adan'f is that the area is gigantic. You'll find yourself wandering the area and finding a good number but spread out amongst 30ish rooms.

Oh yes, when I had the spell (before the magic wipe) I did use it to wonderful effect- especially on the warriors. But like I said, my multi is poor- and CoZ can't help very well with that. Besides- With only about 200-ish in defenses I really shouldn't be able to hunt in there at all! ;)

But I have an old business of revenge to deal with with them...

Against physical attacks yes. They only have parry to rely on and weare Heavy Chain.

Warriors wear Heavy Plate AND use a shield and have a weapon to parry with as well.

Yes. But their magic spells make up for their defensive skills if you let them cast at you.

As for box dropping and spawn rate. I left adan'f because not enough spawned for me and the box dropping rate appeared to be real low. I spent the better part of a couple of months there. I now sit up in Rossmans hunting raiders and reivers. Much better spawn rate up here, mainly due to fewer rooms to deal with as compared to adan'f.

If you are moving around killing quickly, adan'f has perhaps the highest spawn rate in the entire game. You simply cannot kill them all. However, they aren't particularly good for training defenses because of how spread out they are.

Even with sub-200 defenses (and MO), I can dance with 4 warriors and not sustain more damage than a few abrasions once they're all CoZed.

skinning is akin to combat ranks now, so it takes around the same to skin 'em as it does to kill em with whatever weapon, maybe a little less.

I am skinning mages with 2 arranges with about 210 skinning(I think that is correct), skinning warriers with 1 arrange.

yeah, sounds about right. considering agonar tried to send my cleric to kill 18 adan'f warriors with 202 in weapon. <task system>. so that seems to be the "level" expected.

Killing Warriers with 202 in weapons just sounds painful unless you can really overcompensate(as a cleric can).

Was possible with right dance or berserks. I did it back when I had around 200 ranks. Mages are the ones that are sick to hit as long as they have that staff.

Warriers last night were blocking every one of my sword attacks with over 250 in sword(not overcompensating).

I think he meant by casting every single buff available to us. And it is true that without a great deal of luck, I can't take adan'f at melee- though I can with magic.

At Ucu's challenge- let's call it what it was- I did cast my normal magical buffs to see what happened. I noticed that with both PFE and MPP up, I would see silvery blue and white or argent flares whenever an attack was blocked- and with just PFE up, I would see a lot of white flares. I must admit to being just a bit pleased with myself for being a little stronger a fighter than I thought I was! ;)

Overcompensate: for a barbarian that probably means a different thing, but for me, that means offensive commune, Kertigen's commune, Benediction, and COZ.

i have all the communes. i just thought of them more as defensive than offensive. So do you mean eluneds or tamsines? because i'm fairly sure it isn't hodiernas, that one stops ya from bleedin', and meraud's just stops new critters from comin' in and attackin' <also stops stealin', and though my thief finds that aspect "offensive", i'm fairly sure that isn't whats the context here...>

Tamsines, which I still find funny as the God associated with the offensive commune. I find lots of clerics not using our communes, but by the time you reach Adanf, you should be getting an hour or so duration, and the improvement is significant. Kertigen's commune, which I scoffed at for a long time, I have now realized(as several people insisted) is better than a regular bless. I now try to keep Kertigen's on all my primary weapons.
