Bristle back peccs are slowing down on multi, needing 4 to get it moving at any pace at all. Looking to move up. Can take 4 warklin maulers and armored warlkins, but having open rolls explode my chest out of nowhere is getting tiresome, since it cuts down on a lot of exp time. Is there a nice critter in between or something on level with warklins that aren't so hard hitting with open rolls?

Generally use berserker stone constantly, train weapons by feinting and prefer dancing with 4 at a time. Don't use stealths. Wear leather with heavy plate helm and gauntlets.

You're a long way from even getting close to the cap on bristle-back peccs. I think I moved from bristle-backs to south barricade celps with 475 in defenses and 420 in weapons. Granted, that was in TF, but I didn't "cap" bristles either. I was just marking time until I felt like I could handle celps.

Just as an aside... if you think bristles open roll you now, wait until you move to the next critter up the ladder. I believe celpeze are one of the best critters for swarms and training, but they deliver more open rolls than any critter I've hunted in the game. Period.

I hunted shalswar and warklins at about the same time/skill level, but in my experience shalswar hit even harder with their open rolls. But then warklins also teach to about 550, so you're definitely on the very low end to even be trying them. Also, MO slowing down is something you're just going to have to get used to. It took four warklins to move my MO off clear once I hit about 440-442.

I hunted gryphons with your skills, so that would be my best suggestion other than just staying put.

Shalswars never hit hard in my experience, but their riders are significantly more deadly. It's kind of silly that the riders can't attack while mounted.

I hunted Rossman's young gryphons to around 350 in weapons/400 in defenses, then moved to Ratha celpeze.

I was able to hunt in Bristles to combats pretty far past where you are, however around that time I also had the same issue with multi, and it only gets worst past 400. Pretty much whenever I hunt now, the first thing i do is get 4 on me, lock multi/parry/shield, then do my normal combat rotations like normal. I think you should proabbly stay in bristles for a good while longer, but for the next step I went with Basilisks. They are a pain in the ass to get to, they are in a maze, and the spawn sometimes sucks, but they are a good next step up. Also you probably want a bit more weapons for accuracy against Shadowbeasts should they stumble into your room. I'm not exactly sure how the spawn works, but the way it appears to me that in the southern most part of the zone you get pretty much all basilisk almost no shadowbeast, and all the way north vice versa. And combinations between.
