Heya,
Can anyone take a look at the togball spawn? When I first enter the area I get 3 togballs, but once I kill them I don't see any togballs for 6+ minutes.
They are in boar clan.
Thanks.

>> Area probably has a very low total-cap. Are you alone? I've seen 2-3 people in there this week. Could be hogging spawn.
>> Well, I'm there currently, and I see two people on hunt in the same room with 6 of em north, north of me at the Utility shed. You may not be alone. lol
Arg. You guys are totally right, I couldn't see them. I was hoping it was just hiccup/area bug. I didn't realize I was starting another one of these threads.
3 per hunter, dudes have 8. Zzzz.
I came down here because Krooner talked up the area so much. It seems great when those guys aren't around.
You take note of all the tracks in the area, so that you can hunt anything nearby down.
To the north:
1) Bishokik
2) Dygoth
3) a mutant togball

I almost never say this, but Hibi is hands down my favorite area in game. Wish it had more people. But for clerics it's amazing for a few hundred ranks. I'm parked in togballs myself, when I hunt (working random smattering of other things mostly right now and re-integrating 3.0 stuff I've avoided).
You might ask the guys to kill faster, or if you pester them they might leave. I hadn't noticed it being nasty blocked up.
Pants.

I know it's a good in general for Clerics, is there anything around it that transitions well straight from mutant togballs, or is it something I'll come back to later? I was recommended to come here (by you and others) when I was looking for a good hunt before, so I haven't actually looked at what other things are about Hibi. I'm sitting at about ~170 in my defenses with weapons only slightly behind, so I still have a little bit of training off these left for the time being.

Togballs into bloodvines into tresses into nyads/dryads into ogres, I think?
Elanthipedia says bloodvines basically over-lap with togballs. I'd buy that, though I'd say they're a bit harder, they're an excellent alternative to togballs if those are full.

http://elanthipedia.org/w/index.php/Sickly_Blightwater_Nyad
Blight ogres come in a spectrum from 200-300, apparently. But up through Nyads will take you to a good 250+ according to epedia, unfortunately, after togballs, it's no-skinning. Which was a game breaker for me. I stuck around togballs till I capped them, and then played with vines/tresses.
So, after mid to low 200s, I cut out of there, because I have to have skinning. I refuse to backtrain it, as a cleric.

>Thanks for that, that looks like a good progression there, I appreciate it. I'll probably supplement skinning after togballs with something before heading out there, so it doesn't fall TOO far behind, but otherwise it looks great.
Frostweyr bears in P5 are about as tough as maiden tresses and skinnable. They're a a decent bit after togballs as far as combats go, but it makes staying in P5 during the tress/nyad/ogre progression tolerable. Skinning the bears plus scraping should be able to move your skinning at a fair clip, all the way up until you can handle the ogres (and past, actually). Might be a bit of running back and forth over the ice road...
The blight bats outside the bloodvines are skinnable but not much of an option for real training. Spawn only at night and even then it's not a whole bunch. Nor can you scrape. Well, maybe that's changed with the new parts/bones system...I'll have to check.
Oh, and don't forget young cave trolls. There's all of four-five rooms with which to find them, but the spawn CAN be good and they should fill the gap between togballs and bears for 90-120ish ranks of skinning (and locksmithing).

>> ...I didn't know these existed.
They used to have some crazy ice breath that tore people up no matter what. No one ever hunted there because of it. And one day it magically turned off. They are sort of like black leucros now. Pretty nice place.
It was my next step but I'm going to try and stay treasure/skinning for scroll drops.

>Do these do the 'grab your items' special attack? I can't remember which flavor does, but they're basically unhuntable.
I believe you're thinking of the graverobbers on Ain Ghazal (or as mentioned before scavenger trolls). Yeah, those are kind of a pain.
No, the only 'special' attack of the young cave troll's is casting Stone Strike. So training parry can be tricky. Coupled with a small hunting area, they aren't the greatest critter for that level in DR. But for skins and boxes at that level in that province, they fill a niche nicely. In my opinion.
