Just curious why the umbral and void moths gems are so cheap. I would think that pretty much the toughest critters next to bone wyverns would drop some decent loot. I know the antennas are worth a good penny, get 56 plat kronar a bundle of 200 from a seasoned trader. (and my skinning sucks) But the gems are worthless and take up space in my gem pouch. Is this intended?

If the gems were worth more, the skins would be worth less.

Just to support what Turul says, yeah, what Turul says.

AFAIK, a "loot value" based on the critter's difficulty is X. X can be divided up like the following, where some modifiers also come into play. Please note that the actual number modifiers being used aren't real, but AFAIK exist.

1) Loot: X
2) Skin: X*1.25 (since it takes more time and an additional skill to do, also think this is the fully arranged value)
3) Box: X2modifier (since it takes more time with additional risk. AFAIK, the more locks/traps on a box, the more a box can contain)
4) Loot + Skin: X/2 Loot, X/1.5 Skin

Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.

Yep.

Like the others have said... the skins + gems = moth's total loot value.

Loot value in my mind is made up of gem/coin drops + boxes + skins and each mob is assigned a total value to be distributed between what they actually drop.

If there was a similarly ranked critter to moths that was only skin-able (no gems, no boxes), those skins would be worth more.

For another example, if you look at two similarly ranked critters that both drop boxes, but one of which is also skin-able... the skin-able critter's boxes contain less value, than the one that is not skin-able.

Hopefully that made some sense.
