Was there a stealth change to combat/creatures we weren't informed of? Or is this just a bug that will be corrected?
I've been hunting Geni for weeks with little to no problems. Today I'm getting destroyed by them. Yes I checked burden and armor is freshly repaired.
And then I start noticing they're now doing frost damage:
A silver glow blooms around you, laced with strands of white brilliance.
* Moving well, a forest geni claws savagely at you. You barely fail to block with arm greave. The claw lands a good hit that chills the left knee for a moment with a frosty blow.
[You're bruised, nimbly balanced with opponent in good position.]

Same thing with void moths, they are insane now.
An ephemeral light glows about you blunting the blow.
* Moving with great skill, a void-black umbral moth slices wide at you. You fail to evade.
The proboscis lands an extremely heavy hit that rips several frozen fingers from your frost-covered right hand, severely stunning you.
[You're badly hurt, winded, badly balanced with opponent dominating.]

No this is new, Ive been hunting them for a good while and they are just destroying me now. Usually takes me a few hours before I need a heal bad, but now its just bringing the hurt and they are showing chilling hits etc.

Something changed with combat. Some creatures are suddenly hitting for elemental damage that do not have any sort of elemental attacks.
I got hit 3 times in a row earlier, knocked me down to 87%. Normally, 3 hits barely scratches 1%. Considering how far above void moths I am, that's a hell of a difference.

This should be fixed now - I suspect it was the result of a crash or something (Since it was only in Prime and the code I'm 99% sure caused it hasn't changed in a long time). I'm looking into ways to make sure it doesn't reoccur.

PS: I find it hilarious that this finally happened, almost certainly, due to a creature I coded nearly five years ago and while coding it realized this was the doomsday situation was possible when I did it to all of Dev. So I put proper safeguards because combat didn't properly account for what I was doing... and five years later it happened anyhow.

Okay, who wants to flush this script out and get Keanu to star?

An ephemeral light glows about you blunting the blow.
* Moving with great skill, a void-black umbral moth snarls soundlessly and lunges at you. You attempt to dodge.
The proboscis lands a heavy strike that rips into the quadricep and extracts chunks of frozen flesh.

The elemental damage on moths is back and they are doing insane damage again :/

I rolled in a fix that should have made it impossible for that happen for more than one hit.
Are we seeing this with other creatures too? Or just moths specifically?

I just went back to moths for round 2, they are not doing frost damage anymore and seem normal again.
About the other creatures besides moths, I'm not sure. Earlier a few friends were telling me drakes were hurting them bad out of nowhere and had to leave though.

Just a little insight for if you see this again.
Prior to 3.0 the combat system wasn't really written with elemental damage in mind for brawling - though the weapons support it. So when nimbuses brawl (And I assume it's them based on the numbers and the lack of other creatures that do elemental damage) they set up the brawling system for cold damage and then clear it back out afterwards, since core combat doesn't.
This has worked for years... and now apparently it keeps breaking and isn't clearing out the cold damage 100% of the time, so certain other natural attacking creatures (depending on how they're configured) retain the cold damage that a nimbus should be doing on top of their normal damage... and nimbuses do a LOT of cold damage (Since they're so tiny they need to have a fairly scary weapon to present any threat at all).
Apparently the bandage I wrote wasn't live Prime (I thought I'd rolled it out last night, but Ricinus says otherwise and he's the one with code access right now, so I can't really dispute that :). He fixed it BTW). I've since thought of a better way to fix it which I'll look into later this week that should prevent it from getting out of sync at all - but I still have no idea why this is suddenly becoming a problem. My best guess is that someone is hunting nimbuses during the midnight lag/crashes we have lately or something changed in combat that is causing nimbuses to abort their attacks midway through execution. Please let me know if you're hunting nimbuses and seeing anything weird?

Yup its back, seems like its a nasty bug. Don't seem to want to go away lol
An ephemeral light glows about you blunting the blow.
The air around you solidifies into a bright yellow glow and throws off bright waves of light as it resists the attack.
* Moving well, a void-black umbral moth swings at you. You attempt to dodge.
The shadowy tendril lands a good strike that chills skin and muscle as the stomach takes full force of the blow, lightly stunning you.
[You're battered, winded, badly balanced and opponent has slight advantage.]

Now we need wyverns that breath frost instead of fire, and do ice damage on physical attacks as well...
A young wyvern lands an extremely heavy hit that rips into the quadricep and extracts chunks of frozen flesh.
A young wyvern lands an awesome strike that rips several frozen fingers from the wyvern's frost-covered right hand.
A young wyvern lands a powerful strike that freezes the right femur and sends spidery cracks throughout.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

The elemental damage is back again. This time it seems to have come back in moths and also in warklins.

From my Thiefs point of view
* Timing it well, a warklin mauler twists its torso wildly, thrusting its impalers at you. You fail to evade.
The impaler lands a hard hit that chills skin and muscle as the stomach takes full force of the blow, lightly stunning you.
[You're beat up, winded, badly balanced with opponent in excellent position.]

And, no, I won't be anywhere that I can fix it for at least the next five hours. If you report IG there might be someone online who can fix it however.

Oh thicket vipers have it now too.
* Moving well, a giant thicket viper slices wide at you. You badly fail to parry with a kertig hurling axe. The fangs lands a good hit that painfully numbs the left arm.
[You're hurt, adeptly balanced and in better position.]
