Is there already a scripting help folder?
Didn't see one on first glance except for policy discussions.

theres one thats generally accessible on the Simutronics boards <not dragonrealms itself>, and theres a very helpful scripting folder specific to Dragonrealms on The Fallen Boards.

A scavenger troll arrives, scouring the area.
The scavenger troll exclaims, "I dinks I like da' Moongate!"
The scavenger troll bends over and picks up the Moongate. After appraising it, the troll places the Moongate in its frayed knapsack

There's like three different scripting folders. The generalistic Support-FEs folder in the Discussions topic, there's a ZMud folder in the same topic, and I believe there's a Stormfront folder in the DR2 topic. And, separate from the DR folders, there's also forums for each front end.

'Front Ends and Scripting' subdirectory request on 07/11/2005 07:28 PM CDT
I think it would be immensely helpful, as well as popular, if all the scripting and front end forums were gathered into their own category. There are, as has been noted, five or six different boards dealing with scripting issues, all scattered in different areas. That makes it difficult for scripto-maniacs to have coherent discussions.
Ideally this category would be a primary subdirectory under each game entitled 'Front ends and Scripting', and all the forums dedicated to support and scripting for each of the front ends available for the game would be collected there. If all the front end support and scripting forums were in one centralized place, people seeking answers or advice on the subject wouldn't have to chase threads all over the forums looking for info.
Alternatively the category could be put in its own top-level major heading such as is currently done for eScape.

There is a place to discuss scripts for all the products.
See: Simutronics/Wizard Front-End Support/Scripts
It may be hard to find since its inside the Wizard Support folder but it discusses scripting for all front ends not just the Wizard.
For Policy you should check each game Forum but those folders aren't for HOW to script.

Eyrick, thank you for your response. I'll take your word for it, but nothing that I could see in the description of that forum or its parent folder give the slightest indication it is for the discussion of anything but scripting with the Wizard.
That was kind of my point--the scripting folders are quite hard to find, as they are scattered across several areas of the forums in non-intuitive places, and have vague or unclear 'about' statements. Scripting is a very popular aspect to playing a text MUD, and each game has enough unique gameplay that there are significant differences between scripting for one game as opposed to another.
I understand that GM's and Moderators have very full plates and don't need any more food put on them, and further that reorganizing some forums on the boards will, by any rational assessment of relative importance, fall rather low on the urgency scale. But doing so would help stitch the community just that little bit closer together, and alleviate just that little bit of frustration that comes when something has that one little flaw that detracts from the user experience.
