Well I've been working on my little hovel for a few weeks now. Its hard to find things that make the place feel like its owned by a Gnome. Massive beds and hugs fireplaces and the like, just don't work. However heres what I've done so far....
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Colorful blossoms bob amidst the profusion of weeds which thrive in the ruins of nearby home. Morning glories twine about the fallen clapboards, almost covering the marks of the flames which destroyed the building. Fortunately, the nearby homes were left untouched by the ravages of the fire. You also see an empty hovel, an empty hovel, and a tiny stacked stone house encircled by a white picket fence.
[Cozie's Home]
Walls of white-washed plaster and a polished riverstone floor covered by a deep blue braided throw rug enclose this tiny hovel. In one corner lies a carved dark ironwood bench, and near the bench sits a sturdy oak table on which rests a blue-tinted crystal bud-vase. Above a small firepit hangs a flame-blackened cast-iron cauldron with a sculpted brass handle. The room holds a mild scent of beef stew. You also see a handcrafted cedar case with a red-tinged glass fishbowl on it.
>look on bench
On the dark ironwood bench you see a tatted-edge white linen pillow and a tatted-edge white linen pillow.
>look under bench
Under the dark ironwood bench you see a plush long-eared tan dog with a sky blue collar. ( its shy )
>look bud-vase
The bud-vase contains a casual bouquet of twining morning glorys nestled in a bed of deep green featherferns. (picked the glories just outside the door!)
>look cauldron
Round and heavy as a fat melon, the little cauldron boasts a beautifully sculpted brass handle. Rabbits and game fowl chase along the handle's length while bunches of herbs cleverly hide the rivets holding the handle in place. A loop has been attached on one side, possibly as a handy spot to hang a soup ladel. Three brass onions along the base of the cauldron serve as feet.
Thats it so far. I'm trying to stick to the fact that its a hovel and not put in marble floors and other fancy stuff. Unless one day the interior will pick up what the exterior is, it will always be a hovel no matter what I put in it. I also can't seem to find a suitable table, but I still looking! I'm trying to stay away from that long list of 'You also see' things. More stuff makes the place seem larger... to me anyway. It also looks like the delivery men just dumped those things by the door and they were never put away. heh
