Most likely carving and in some cases engineering.

Just to get my views out there, I'd much rather see stuff contesting and teaching multiple skills, especially for more intricate products. A basic lyre could be just carving, a lyre shaped to resemble a sleeping dragon would be carving and artistry, and a piano would be carving and engineering (and possible artistry).

I think it would much better represent the intricate nature of production and pigeonhole people less. Not every tailor would be the same: some would have the artistry skill necessary to make some really fine looking interwoven designs, and some might have a touch of carving that lets them make neat intricate designs on the buttons.

It also reminds me of WoW to make one thing require one profession, and I think it limits the amount of stuff that can be made, or at least makes it much harder to place what skill it should use/teach.

The process of production would then, of course, contest the requisite skill according to the difficulty of the step involving it. Consider a shirt with buttons marked by a carved X and a shirt with buttons carved with a diminutive representation of a fire sprite's face. The first would contest and teach tailoring as much as the second, but the second would contest and teach carving more than the first.

one thing that will have to be addressed across the board in all the new skills - right now various things that all teach mech teach it well, somewhat, or not well.

For instance, carving lockpicks only teaches a bit of mech, whereas pyramids and origami teach it alot more. and carving bones <enchanting> teaches much better than embroidery <artistry?>

will the degree of exp rewarded be getting an overhaul as well?

Absolutely. We'll be taking great pains to make sure all creation systems are fairly well balanced in terms of both investment and reward. It's not going to do us any good to have multiple creation systems if everyone picks System A because it has the best payout in terms of money or experience.
