50% Metal Loss when making a carving knife on 05/24/2016 11:42 AM CDT

Before I made a carving knife, I had a steel ingot that had a volume of 93. After I completed a 2 volume carving knife the same ingot had a volume of 46. So I lost over 50% of the metal in the ingot. This has to be a bug, since there is no way I could have used 47 volumes of metal to make a carving knife.

I've not heard of any significant metal-loss bugs in several years with forging. Occasionally we'll identify a rounding bug for tiny volumes and I'll get it fixed. But this sounds really odd. Do you have a log of this happening and/or the knife and ingot still?

I'm going to spend a few days adding more logging so we have more information if this happens again. Otherwise I'll try to catch you in game this weekend. Sorry!

My play-net address is fine. dr-kodius@play.net I think?
