So, I finally happened upon a rare metal vein and picked up about 50 volumes of lumium.

Do folks buy raw ore or should I smelt it down?

What kind of money could I get for a nice chunk of lumium? Or for steel, or silver for that matter?

I sell it for about 2p per volume. I smelt it into ingots for ease of use: much easier to have 1 deed for an ingot of 50 volumes than 20 shards.

>>Or for steel

Nothing. Maybe 5-10p per 200 volumes?

>>silver for that matter?

Same as steel.

I have started buying common and uncommon metals. Ingot or raw ore, refined or unrefined. Only had 3 people come to my shop this last week, so I'll use this as a chance to advertise. I will be in my shop, Delendra's Craft Supplies, in the Riverhaven Market Plaza on Wednesdays and Saturdays 10pm to 12pm Eastern Time for the purpose of buying metals. I will also purchase outside of those times if I am not running trade routes. My prices per volume in lirum are as follows. I will also pay equivalent kronar prices if in Zoluren.

Metal Refined Unrefined or Raw Ore
Copper 80 60
Covellite 40 30
Gold 4000 3000
Iron 80 60
Lead 32 24
Nickel 64 48
Oravir 32 24
Platinum 8000 6000
Silver 1600 1200
Tin 24 18
Zinc 56 42

Having the metals in ingots will make the buying process go faster, even if you don't refine it. I do take raw nuggets, it just takes longer to total the volumes.

Sah-weet.

If I'm around, I'll definitely stop by. I have loads of ingots to off-load.

As for the rare-metals. Are rarer metals more difficult to smelt? I haven't botched anything yet, but I really don't want to take a chance on this as it could be worth quite a bit.

Delendra, will you buy rare metals too?

Thanks

I don't have a handle on rare metal pricing, so I'm not too keen on buying rare or very rare. I've had a 200 volume ingot of 99 pure lumium for 600 platinum lirum that I was hoping an armorsmith would find worthy of grabbing, but it's sat for a a couple months now. Even if I can't sell the common metals, I can use them myself for work orders with minimal loss. Only metals I've had luck selling in the rare and above catagory are kertig and haralun. I'll offer the same percentages on those two based on my selling price. We can discuss that when you drop off your common metals. Majority of the metal I sell is Work Order Bronze (silver/bronze mix) and the different grades of pure steel, ie. common metals.

PS I can't believe I used the word keen.
