Tonight the Nashville Predators start the first game of a two game home-and-home series against the Red Wienies. This battle will help solidify our hold on first place in the Central Division, the Western Conference and the entire League. Even though we're plagued by some injuries to a couple of key players, the Preds will prevail tonight and tomorrow night as well.

In a related story, I wish a pox on Chris Chelios. And I hope that Osgood gets a mad case of the hives. That is all.

Wait wait. What? The Predators? Man I need to start following hockey again.

How are the Nordiques doing?

Uh, the Nordiques moved to Denver and became the Colorado Avalanche back in '95 man. I guess it HAS been a while for you. ;)

And yes, watch more hockey! (This coming from someone who grew up in the midwest where football was king and hockey was what you played with your girlfriend ala tonsil hockey but who was the oddball and always has loved the sport).

As an aside, we lost 5-2 last night, but have a chance at redemption tonight at the Joe. Hopefully the Preds team that played the first period last night shows up, and not the one that played the third period and kinda gave up.

Yeah, I just like to rib on my friends from Colorado who all of a sudden get a hockey team (and a good one at that) and think they're the bomb. I'm an Isles fan, but I was bummed when the Whalers headed down to Carolina. But if you Southerners are actually getting into the sport now then I guess it's not all that bad.

Ugh. You and all the main stream sports writers, I swear! The south has BEEN into the sport for many years, even as far back as the 50's (or maybe earlier), with the Dixie Flyers minor league team. I'm just finally glad to see the "usual suspects" aka ESPN and sports radio, finally giving the Preds some props. You'd think 8 years in the league and people would realize we have a team down here. I credit the Forsberg trade for a lot of the recent hype, though we HAVE had a hell of a year.

Ugh. Detroit won them both. But! I still remain hopeful that we'll still pull off some wins and snag the President's trophy. But even if not that, hopefully our hurt forwards (we lost another one Tues night btw) will all get healthy before playoff time.
