I dislike excessive fluff. I enjoy seeing what people wear but if it is excessive like the above example I don't bother to read. I figure if someone is wearing all that gear they would look like a walking gift shop or .. OOC or a bag lady.

I skimmed enough to notice the word "dragon" about 37 times, and a few color modifiers (black, ebony, dark) and figured I pretty much "got it" without taking the time to read word for word.

I pretty much follow the "Rule of 12" when it comes to my inventory. Simply put, if I'm not hunting, I try to keep no more than 12 items in the description. This includes clothes, accessories, containers, gweth, et al. It's more difficult to go by "lines" because everyone has a different line length based on various factors.

Oh, agreed. For those who are description-conscious, this is one of the biggest mistakes people make. I don't know how many folks I've seen with a small number of items -- all the same color. Watch for repeated words and patterns, from item to item.

You can skim words off your description through assumptions. If you've got a backpack, I'm going to (subconsciously) assume it is dark or black, unless you tell me differently. Does it really need a modifier? Is it special? I'm going to take notice of a "pink backpack." Telling me something obvious (on multiple items, or common ones) triggers my instinct to skim through all your cool stuff.

Just an example. I'm not picking on your backpack.
