Different weapons have different combos.

simply typing attack over and over should at least keep you balance neutral or positive.

Some specific weapons combos

Edged slicer
dodge, feint, draw, sweep, slice, chop

blunt
bash sweep draw slice

halberd
draw slice thrust sweep chop

If you can find the combat equipment compendium, the last page has all/most of the weapon combos.

There are guides out there, but I am not an expert. Mainly each weapon type has moves that either increase your balance/position or decrease, and it can depend on what moves follow what moves. So Parry, would be neutral, then Feint with a slicer/jabber would be increasing, then if you thrusted you would suffer a decrease.. etc. Play with it, it is a fun system to learn I think.

Its a Jabber weapon (opposed to a slicer ie. Katar/Leaf-Blade Sword/Kythe). Attack is a generic command that does whats best for your weapon I believe, but I don't think it handles getting balanced on all weapons perfectly, I could be wrong I don't use it. Thrust is a command that just does exactly that, thrusts. So when it says its a weapon better used for Thrusting that means you need to gear towards that, and that it's power cycles are for thrusting moves (jab/thrust/lunge).

Take a look at the combat-flow charts at www.olwydd.org: There are a few combos mapped out there that are good for jabbing weapons.

I never did quite get the hang of using a jabber, but if a weapon bashes or slices, watch me go! ;)

Great advice. Why teach the new guy how to play when he can just get a script to do it for him?

I vote you write your own scripts so you have a better understanding of A)why your doing it and B)how your doing it and C)how to fix it.

The only script I use from others is the Travel one, quite frankly that is too large of a project to reinvent.

Heh, I don't script when I hunt at level, only to backtrain weapons. I got through the novice times by simply typing attack, worked well. I only got 33 deaths at circle 40...
