Its amazing, after this happened below, I read every post conserning innerfire..and the 2 references from 10 pages said the hit isnt even noticable. Not if there is not hit on a barb, can you at least take the scowling messaging off. If there is no innerfire hit, there should be no message its that simple and it keeps people like Caraamom below happy.

>Caraamon frowns.
>
Caraamon scowls and appears agitated.
>

Caraamon loudly says, "I 'ere ta ask yer guild ta do me a favor"
>stop sing
You stop performing the Naga's Blessing enchante.
The power thrumming through your veins gradually fades.
>

Caraamon loudly says, "stop wanderin around singin yer songs, dere screwin wit my guild's fire"
>"sure thing, what ya need?
You ask, "sure thing, what ya need?"
>
Hapre frowns at Caraamon.
>"heh..unlikely..have you even checked how much?
You ask, "heh..unlikely..have you even checked how much?"
>
Hapre asks, "The efeect is tiny, isn't it?"
>put horn in pack
You put your horn in your journey pack.
>

Caraamon loudly says, "ain't da point"
>
Hapre says, "Yes it is..."
>
>"sure it is..
You say, "sure it is.."

Caraamon shrugs.
>
Caraamon loudly says, "yer choice"
>
Hapre asks, "What is the point then?"
>'have ya complained to the mages?
You ask, "have ya complained to the mages?"
>
Caraamon loudly says, "about somma dere spells? aye"
>
Caraamon loudly says, "jus lettin ya know, cause da next step is somma yer guildmates dyin, an dat ain't a threat"
>peer spec at caraa
You peer at Caraamon over the rim of your spectacles.
>look caraa
You see Veteran Caraamon Majerye, a Gor'Tog Barbarian.
He has black eyes. He has green-grey skin and a brawny build.
He is tall for a Gor'Tog.
He is in his prime for a Gor'Tog.

He has faint scuffing to the head, faint scuffing to the neck, minor swelling and bruising around the right arm, some faint scars along the right arm, some faint scars along the left arm, faint scuffing to the right leg, some faint scars along the right leg, minor swelling and bruising around the left leg compounded by cuts and bruises about the left leg, minor swelling and bruising around the right hand, some faint scars along the left hand, minor swelling and bruising in the chest area, minor scarring along the chest area, faint scuffing to the back.

He is wearing some blood red gloves, a chain balaclava, some blued steel mail with a padded leather gambeson, a lumpy bundle, a tasseled leather waterskin, a fine mesh backpack, an elaborately braided ceremonial spidersilk sheath, some billowing black satin pantaloons edged with flame red piping, a black cape embroidered with a barbarian standing over a defeated foe, a sleeveless muslin shirt cut to compliment the male physique, a dangling silver skull earring set with brilliant ruby eyes, a gold medallion symbolizing dedication to Everild, a quarter staff, some jet black boots with pointed steel toe caps damascened in gold and silver, a sack, a double-wrapped leather sword belt tooled with rampaging wild boars, a blood red linen hip pouch woven in black with dancing barbarians, a soldier's supply bag, a wide silver wristband heavily coated with black tarnish and crudely etched with galloping centaurs, a thick iron ring with an obsidian plate carved in the shape of a centaur, a silver ring bearing the crest of the Barbarian Guild, a long mesh weapon harness, a black spidersilk weapons harness clasped with a burnished gold star, a silver key with a spider-web design on the grip and a dingy brown battle-worn burlap tabard stained with sweat and blood.

Caraamon loudly says, "I donna particular want yer guildmates dyin, but if dats what we gotta do ta be safe, dats da price we pay"
>"your safe enough
You say, "your safe enough"
>
* Ternith was just struck down!
>
Hapre says, "Whoa...you can't just go killin...speak up if it bothers you that much..."
>
Caraamon nods to Hapre.
>
Your mind hears Fenance thinking, "Sure do Galain."
Caraamon loudly says, "actually we kin"
>"you just one of the few who want to make a fuss
You say, "you just one of the few who want to make a fuss"
>
Your mind hears Galain thinking, "Fenance, do you have a moment to speak to me?"
>
Caraamon loudly says, "under da new rules, what yer doin gives consent"

<i love someone that part, pulls out consent, go figure>
>
Caraamon looks at you and shrugs.
Beledona just arrived.
>"consent goes both ways
Beledona begins a song but quickly becomes flustered and confused as the music collapses in a crash of dissonance and awkward notes.
>
You say, "consent goes both ways"
>
Caraamon loudly says, "I talked ta ya, said my peace, up ta ya what ya do 'bout it"
>
Beledona rubs her eyes.
>
Beledona stretches.
>
Beledona scans a russet-edged parchment song scroll.
>
>"see..you stopped her enchante
You say, "see..you stopped her enchante"
>
Beledona takes a bite of the rolls.
>
You feel fully attuned to the mana streams again.
>

Hapre scowls at Caraamon.
>
Caraamon blinks.
Caraamon loudly asks, "eh?"
"just go Caraamom
>You say, "just go Caraamom"
>
Caraamon makes a disgusting grunting noise.
>
Caraamon loudly says, "yer choice, yer life"
>
Caraamon shrugs.
>
Veteran Caraamon just went east.
>

The weather is here....wish you were beautiful.

See, the part where he says the word consent is the part where you shoot him in the head until he stops moving.

What's your complaint? There was quite a lengthy discussion about consent and enchantes when the new enchantes came out, and an inner fire hit is consent. Most people don't act on it, but that doesn't mean some can't. An enchante failing, however, I'm pretty sure is not consent unless it was somehow deliberately done. Walking around continually singing enchantes does put you at risk of consent if you walk into a room a barbarian is in and you cause an IF hit.

I always feel bad when I give an IF hit, even if they walk through my room other than the other way around. I'm trying to stop myself from walking around while enchanting; it's a hard habit to break.

Please, at least find out the details before you kill a bard. Most of the time, it's probably just us being forgetful, which is NOT a good excuse. But sometimes it's something more than that: it's possible a bard is singing lilt to keep themselves alive while they run to the empath guild, or as they drag an unconscious or near-dying friend there. If that's the case, I really hope one wouldn't yell consent and kill the lilter.

We all have to deal with the effects of people walking through our rooms sometimes. If I'm trying to Resolve a deadly swarm, and a barbarian walks in, causing my enchante to fail in MY Room, thus causing me to die from the swarm, would I blame him? No. And yet, the tiny hit inner fire takes is considered worse than that, if the situations were reversed? Hmm.

The problem is, the tiny hits to inner fire add up, and I realize that. We're hoping it will be recoded perhaps when the freeze is over. I would ask that you don't just kill bards indiscriminately... some of our young ones may not be aware of what they are doing. I just mentioned this in the bard guild as a warning to some of them, and many didn't know about it at all.

Educate on the first hit, maim on the second, three strikes we're out might be fair...

Thanks for the warning, Caraamon, even if it was a bit... strongly worded. I'll do my best to educate my guildmates.

I thought BMR checks were only when a bard walks into a new room or when they start an enchante?
Are their BMR checks now when a barb enters a room?

The hardest time for a bard to start their enchante is when they are in a room with a barb. But, I do think the magical resistance check is constant even after the enchante is going. Sure, it's easier to keep the enchante going once it starts, but the magical resistance check keeps going. I wouldn't think your magical resistance ever shuts off completely unless your dead.

For the most part the only time we even hit a barbs fire is if their fire is already really low or they have almost no charisma and dis. I hunt with Gilvore all the time and I never hit his fire unless he has been roaring and dancing or has just departed. I hunt with Kittyanna alot too and I hardly ever hit her fire and shes half my circle. The hits they do recieve are so small that they dont even really show up gil has a chakrel amulet and we have tested this alot. Ive about driven him mad makin him use up his fire so I can test my songs on him. Grungy let me test a few songs on him too, I can barely get a song to work around him so there is no chance of me hitting his fire - even if I turned up the mana and tried. Getting a song to start when we are around a barb is really much more of a bother then the small hits they might get from us.
