Do the guild leaders normaly clear a commoner's PM ranks when they join the guild?
-cause I have a 6th circle barb in the test DRII with 30 ranks and no IF

Wipe clean is gone yes, but magic should be wiped when joining the barb guild, and stealing if join the paladin guild. Those skills always were in the past, and have not seen any announcement that it has changed.

Well, the Barb thing maybe changes at second circle? Other than that I know they plan on implementing a questish thing that one will have to complete to purge magic ranks. Sorta like how Paladins can get rid of stealing ranks...only more difficult and more painful. With DR 2 coming around I'm guessing that will be implemented eventually as well.

Yuppers. I picked up 3 ranks of MD from touching the altar of the mind in the mastiff area by Shard. I still get full fire messaging, and don't seem to have any problems, even though would love to get rid of these darn magic ranks.
They need warning labels on those things. NOt like my barb can read those, so guess a picture will have to do.

It recovers. There is no long term effect currently.
