Okay, maybe I'm missing something here, but didn't it used to be you had to soak this thing in the water before you could play it? and I tried playing it for the selkies, it doesn't seem to work any more....am I missing something?

If I remember correctly, you only need to BE in the water, and then play your shintu. It will be obvious when you're doing it right.

It used to be that you would play a GENTLE song, and the music would spread out and call the selkies. I've not tried it since Play 2.0, however, so it's possible that it's broken.

With a flambuoyant slash, a red bear orc raider manages to shred your ear into narrow strips of useless leather. He flings them to the ground with a muttered curse.

I think they are broken. I used to play one in the stream near Lang and it worked fine, but I got the same message last time I tried. Because I'm not a bard I didn't try to find out why it didn't work.

Also, the word TO might be more import than playing for the selkie. I'll go test later today.

It's definitely broke. I shouldn't be able to play the shintu out of water yet that's the only place it will play. Shall I repost under the bug folder or is this okay here?

Out of Water:

[Tembat Nai Itan, Ledge]
A rippling curtain of blue and green flowstone seems to dance along the edge of a granite mantle about ten hands overhead. Shifting light reflected from the pool's surface casts pinks and yellows on the curtain, mixing new colors that fade and blend into others. You also see the water and a narrow crevice.
Obvious exits: northeast, south.
>play tango
You effortlessly begin a quiet ballad on your coral shintu, your heart swelling in pride at your hard-earned skill.

In the Water:

[Tembat Nai Itan, Satha Cavern]
Softly fluorescing algae barely illuminates the capacious room leached from the island's foundation. Twisted dripstone pillars seem to support a great canopy of stalactites hanging overhead like a frozen forest of weeping willows. A thick stalagmite climbs out of the water and terminates near a ledge capping the limestone wall that skirts the cavern interior.
Obvious exits: south, southwest, down.
>get shin
You get a coral shintu from inside your dark coral pack.
>
Your coral shintu is thoroughly soaked by the water it rests in.
>play shintu to selkie gentle
Your shintu is submerged in the water! Maybe you should find somewhere drier first.
>play my shintu for selkie gentle

As I recall, shintus have had issues for a while - since Play 2.0, anyway. I'm not sure Dart has had a chance to resolve those yet.
