Is the guild as a whole going to be seeing anything in say, the next few months, having to do with a merchant or clerical items? Would love to get my hands on a few prayer badges again.
The new Clerik
Hmm can you throw in a couple dozen cleric-only weapons and armor too? Maybe holy enchanted armor that actually does damage to evil/cursed/abomination-type critters that come in contact with the one wearing it? Maybe a pair of holy gauntlets that when used in grappling inflicts continuous damage to opponent's spirit, sort of Chill Touch mechanism? A tower shield that can be INFUSED such that when successfully blocking a critter's blow, discharges enough holy energy to either destroy the weapon or knock it out of an opponents' hands? How about INFUSING weapons specially treated so that they release INFUSED holy energies upon impact, sort of like Uber-bless?
Crory, the holy barb
Crory, the holy barb
Can we get a portable Mikveh or pitcher and basin for ritual bathing? Maybe you could even 'save' it to your home?

Strangeguard Prayermaster
You gesture at a sand sprite.
Its head soars through the air as its neck is entirely destroyed!
A sand sprite slowly falls to the ground, moaning in despair, shuddering in pain before taking her last breath.

Wasn't, unfortunately. I check when I'm in town.
You didn't say if you were a new player, so I'll assume ya are. Better to cover the bases than come up short.
A new cleric needs a few items a new anything else does. Armor, I recomend Light chain. Weapon, recomend ME or HE. You'll need a shield, you can get those free from goblins. You'll want something to teach you magic devices, so ask around and get a rune, any type, though one with holy mana will be easiest to learn from. You'll want to swing by the cleric shop and get yourself a silver vial, to hold holy water. We have several communes and abilities which use the water, and a container has to be blessed to hold it.
What you really need as a new cleric is to get your devotion up. Devotion offers a bonus to power perception, so you can cast more/learn more magic with higher devotion. There are a lot of ways to do this. kissing, cleaning, dancing in front of altars will give devotion at low levels, tithing 5 gold will also, planting a sirese seed, filling the bath/taking a bath in the Crossings temple pool are just a few.
And I hope you choose protection from evil as your first spell, bless and rejuve are limited, since you need an unblessed weapon and a corpse, respectively.
There will be options to pick from. There will rarely be a case where the NPC says, "Here is your sword, go have fun."

If you want to use leather armor as an older cleric or anyone for that matter to grab you a cuir coat from Rockies. Oval shields from Reavers are better than the Target shields in gobs as well

>>I'm a new cleric, what items do I need to start out, and where can I get them?
As good clerics have helped me before, I like to help young clerics. Sadly, I'm in Ratha at the moment, and as such, much of my nice, unused, clerical stuff is in my vault an ocean away. However, I believe my thief is still in Crossing, and should you need something, I'm sure I could wake him up to pilfer you some basic items (some armor, weapon, holy water container, and such)... not how I would prefer to do it, but I'm in no position to raid my vault right now.
Also, if you just have any clericy questions, feel free to IM me at Ristyl... I might not always be right, but I am most of the time ;)

Putting my reply here since we have a whole folder for it (sorry, OCD kicked in)...
I think there was a nice Clerical selection at the fest between Misenseor Goods, Forever Faithful, Visions of Holiness, See the Light and Soulful Trinkets.
Agreed on the custom SoL scrolls.
Most of what I'd like to see is old stuff brought back:
-The god-themed prayer bead carving cases from the Jaal Jeraya.
-Sputkin's prayer mats.
-Bunglefoot's cambrinth orbs for each of the gods.
-Festival Pavilion (the one with all the god rooms behind the curtains).
-Old Cleric shop backroom inventory. Currently there's Hodierna and Urrem'tier, and I think there were Meraud, Everild, Eluned and Faenella in the past. Add one set to the empty backroom of the shop in Theren and have them all rotate, perhaps like the ships in Ilaya Taipa.
New stuff:
-Aligned spell preps. If we want to go wild and crazy how about one for each god? Make it a contest.
-Cleric-only weapons that go through normal checks but cause spirit damage instead of vitality damage (maybe a spell/commune instead). Picking up by a non-Cleric causes a spirit health hit similar to graverobbed items. Hey I can try, right?
-Prayer shawls. The old backrooms had some of these; make them for each god and add some verbs that make sense for praying.
Segmere, you might be interested in one of the sistrums from the hidden Bone Elf room in the Elf tent at the fest:
a slim hammered bronze sistrum in a bloodwood frame
>The sistrum has a shady history, being known for its use in the rites of the cult of Dergati. Legend holds that it was originally created by the Bone Elves plotting to assassinate Queen Morganae, who used the rattle to signal each other under the guise of music. It consists of an oval frame on a slender handle, with metal cross pieces on which are threaded rings or cymbals. The musicians shake the instrument to produce a rhythmic jangling beat.

Also, different prayer bead chains and worry beads. Maybe some of these items could be added into the exsisting Clerical shops.
Seconded for aligned spell preps.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the prayer bead chains. I tried to get one altered at the fest and apparently they have a large "DO NOT ALTER THIS ITEM" tag. So some different designs would be great.

The gods are jerks. No, really.
