ReplyHiya all- and hi Verbal- of course I remember you.
A year ago, me the player of Flavius, attended a conference in another state, and during that almost week of intense drinking and debauchery- er I mean 'work', I didn't play Flavius at all.
And then I just didn't play Flavius when I returned home. Oh I signed on a few times....ran around the Crossing a little bit, played down in Misenseor a little. But I just didn't have the passion/addiction anymore.
Part of it was my reaction to the changes. Please don't anyone take this as criticism of the GM's or the attempts to make DR more robust and viable- but the changes affected the game for me in two ways- first it introduced a new learning curve that I just wasnt looking for. Setting up a spreadsheet to try to figure out how to re-pick the spells for Flavius at 125 circle just seemed more work than fun at this point.
The second part is entirely personal- but the change to the caps of spells to incorporate stats hit Flavius with Benediction- Flavius only had one stat close to the level needed to maximum the stat boost for Benediction- and that stat- Discipline- of course didn't get boosted. The reduction in the stat boost for Benediction meant an increase load time for Flavius's main weapon- HX- now crossbows. Just irritated me everytime I loaded.
Anyway that is my explanation- I have signed on I think 3 or 4 times since March of last year, and time I stopped paying to not be playing- going to be putting my account on hold, and I suspect I won't be back.
My thanks to all of those who have made the game fun for me, the player of Flavius over the years- and god how many years those are- Dragonrealms Beta- sadly I don't even remember many of the names anymore- but among them Lagerby, Crory(who first taught me how a dwarf cleric should carry an axe), Cadderly, Leucius, Dianelle, Rience, Basthet, Geoffin, Ucu and Aetherie.
I loved playing a cleric, and had many good times in DR. My best wishes to everyone who still plays and remembers Flavius- enjoy, enjoy.
