Paralysis probably shouldn't message about wearing off when you kill something, since the messaging doesn't really make sense.

>cast
You gesture at an adult desert armadillo.
A stream of translucent, golden energy shoots from the palm of your hand towards an adult desert armadillo!
The stream of energy snakes around the desert armadillo for a moment before suddenly constricting, splashing into it!
The desert armadillo stops suddenly, as if frozen in place.
Roundtime: 1 sec.

>kick
< Driving in like the irresistable force of a cyclone, you kick your steel-toed footwrap at an adult desert armadillo. An adult desert armadillo completely fails to block with its plated hide. The footwrap lands a solid hit (4/22) that knocks it down and out with a blow to the nether regions (Total loss of bowel control accompanies a twitching death!).
An adult desert armadillo falls over and, after a couple of spasms, is still.
An adult desert armadillo begins to move again, the anesthetic effect having obviously worn off.

I think similar messaging happens for a lot of debilitation spells where the wear off effect amounts to something being able to move again. Just highlighting that to stress that it's more an overall issue with debilitation expiration messaging than this particular spell.

Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.
