Amo, I've noticed that casting GOL helps a bit to get that link. It can be done. Sometimes it takes me a little bit to get that link settled, but it CAN be done.

:) Hi Syrath.

I know it can be done. I have about a 50/50 chance of it happening... depending on how wounded I am. Interesting enough, it's when I'm really wounded that I'd need it most. I usually don't even bother...as i can cast a spell to heal a wound as I take it.

But since no one understood my pathetic attempt at pirate speak, I'm just wondering, is that the blamed difficulty of the ability?

I had Amorisse at half the level she is now when the ability came out...then, I just thought, well, I need to get better to use it. Well, a lot of time has passed...I've gained in many more skills and stats... yet it is still as difficult.

Now, I'm not trying to be self-centered in this...but I can only base it on my own experiences as I haven't really any other way to tell... going by what Syrath says, it is hard...

Would someone in the know, please, Loriene, Nio? Look at this controlled transference and re-evaluate the difficulty? It's been around a long time...and it would be a nice benefit for the majority of empaths who have worked hard...shouldn't it be less difficult than shift? Perhaps something you can do by 20th or 25th?

Your thoughts and ideas on it would really help ;) Or, if there is somewhere else I should ask about it...would you point me that way, Grans?

Thank you so much!

Amorisse

p.s. Gift of Life is a great spell...I used it before the tweak to it, too...and now, since June, I always keep it up. It's a constant for me. ;)

Syrath, are you suggesting that it's more useful just after the cast rather than towards the end of its duration?

All I know is that I more able to to partial transfers when I have it up. So far as I know, either GOL is on or off. Throughout it's duration the strength remains consistent, I'm fairly sure.

My apologies, but I'm interested in what you're talking about with one problem - what is controlled transference? You mean like lessening the severity of a wound?

-Vinsa, who's been an empath long enough that she should know (at least in general terms) what people are talking about, yet rarely does, all the same.

Controlled transference is just transferring part, half, or most of a wound instead of all of it. Very useful if you have wounds on said part and don't want to die from overhealing.

The problem is, it's very hard to do. Provided you can even establish a transferring link, half the time you "slip" and either start transferring the whole wound or get a "Wild transfer". The good thing is, wild transfers are mostly part or half anyway.

Usage is (I think) transfer person wound part/half/most
